That's an encouraging performance for the Ukrainians - but it seems the Serbians will have to step it up a bit for the Russians.

Russia, Serbia and Ukraine are good example how to develop rugby league, because they are 100% domestic sides.

Everyone knows how one or two players missing or appearing can change team's performance on professional level. Imagine how much six or seven best players missing can affect an amateur team. So, it was fine win for us, because Ukraine boys are all fit, athletic look, simply Russian school of athletes' preparation, but our boys were also good, especially in defense in second half and they proved they can win tight game.

Our "fortune" is that we didn't have proper opposition so far. Better teams are much better and weaker teams are much weaker, so this was what we needed.

Well said dorcolrugby - a good competitive fixture will have done your lads much more good than a 'blow-out'.
