And what's his excuse for the last 4 or 5 years?

He's always flattered to decieve.

He's the greatest downhill skier I've ever seen in the NRL.

Going into this round he was first in line break assists, first in dropouts forced, 4th in try assists, had put in the most kicks in the NRL was second in tries by a half and near the top in line breaks for a half too.

People seem to think that because SJ can do freakish things he should be able to pull a try out his arse whenever he feels like it and when he doesn't he's no good.

There are a lot of issues with the Warriors at the moment, but on the back of an average pack, a poorly structured team and playing injured, he's not doing too bad at all. I could name at least half a dozen pressing issues that need to be addressed well ahead of SJ.

Ummm no I didn't defend Pearce's Origin selection series after series.

But hey, if making something up helps your case then go for it!

And yes, on his day Johnson is brilliant. It's just a shame that it's hardly ever at the business end of the season or when his team is in trouble.

Those are Dally M stats, when you're the only go-to man in a team you'll always win the Brownie points. Shaun stands out when things go his way because he's probably the best player in the comp when things go his way. Problem is he's elected to play in the one position in the team that necessitates creating opportunities for every player to have things go their way

I really don't know what to make of him, yep, with the wind at his back and a flat track he can be brilliant

Seldom makes others look better, the rookie Hingano (admittedly probably not high on the Cowboys tip sheet) showed more as a half in a badly beaten team... he's a good kid, if we can get a good coach and a good structure he'll go well

That's the point though. He's doing all he can with what he has,

He has a mediocre pack in front of him, opposition know he's the only player we have therefore can target him relentlessly, and the team is structurely and tactically poor. He doesn't even have a full backline to work with as we put forwards on the win to try and compensate for our poor pack.

It's too easy to say SJ should hit his magic button and produce when there are far more pressing issues in the side to deal with first.

If you don't think he's a very good player, you're a fool... but if he was consistent he'd be a great player. Easily one of the most enjoyable players to watch.

Basically if it wasn't for origin every year the Warriors would finish in the bottom 4 90% of the time. Johnson is ok but nowhere near as good as he is made out

Every year he goes missing when it matters. In 2014 they had to beat Penrith in the last round to make the 8 and he was awful

He was carrying a groin injury in the latter stages of the 2014 season. His injury coincided with the Warriors losing their way. Looking at him last night I wouldn't be surprised if he's a tad lame now as well.

Pops shows up in a thread bagging Johnson and manages to sneak in a Hayne bagging while he's at it. So predictable.
