i'm not sure why we changed our defencive style from last years up and in defence.
I'm not a big fan of the slide defence expecially on your line, very suss to the straight runner.
I wouldn't mind seeing the tigers use a conbination of both. Up and in when trying to pin the opposition in their own 20m. force them to throw it around and go around you. Slide in mid field to try and contain.
But definently need to come off the our tryline faster, to put pressure on the ball carrier.
The reason why the panthers made 8 line breaks was that we were flat footed trying to slide and the panthers had players running at pace. They were stringing 3 to 4 passes together before our first defender became involved.
Maybe the lack of pace in our pack is the reason where sliding :?:
