I'm curious.
Can I please be told.
Lord,Lady and Kid Ted,have recently had a new slow combustion woodburner installed.
Anyway, the blurb says that visible interior part of the flue is stainless steel.
Why does it turn coppery gold on the outside when the heat is applied on the inside?

Good question, though I can't help you with the answer.
But. Wouldn't have this been better postedin the Ask Us Anything thread?

I had a potbelly with stainless flu-kit that did that. the reason is that it is so hot that it burnes the metal. the higher up the flu you go the less it is burned coz its cooler.
cheers
