the Superbowl has been running since 1967 and there has been some great ones! which do u think is the best ever??? i reakon its 1998. it doesn't get much closer than that!

Plus who do u think will be in it this year. its gunna be close, alot of sides have made some big changes in the off-season and will be looking good for season 2003-04. i have a feeling it will be an Oakland V's Philadelphia, and hopefully it will have a similar ending to the last time these 2 sides played in a Superbowl in Superbowl XV!

I'm old enough to have seen every one of the Super Bowls on TV. Here's an NFL trivia question - how were the first four Super Bowls different from the rest?

Being a big Pittsburg Steeler fan, I've always thought that SB XIII against Dallas was the most exciting one, and SB X also against Dallas, and SB XIV vs the LA Rams were also good games.

I've also posted my question in the Quiz section.

Hint: look at the list of SB's in post #1. The NFL is much older than 1967.

That's it Gav. The AFL was a rival league which started in 1960. When they agreed to merge, they played 4 Super Bowls as separate leagues, with the 2 champs meeting. The first SB was big news because it was a mystery how the AFL Chiefs would do, but the Packers handled them easily, same with the Raiders in SB II. But in SB III the underdog AFL NY Jets led by quarterback Joe Namath beat the Baltimore Colts. A shocker which was repeated the next year when the AFL's KC Chiefs beat the Minnesota Vikings handily.

After that the 2 leagues merged fully, with 2 conferences, the AFC (old AFL plus 3 NFL teams) and the NFC. The rivalry has never been quite the same as when it was the champs of 2 separate leagues playing.

SBXXXII is the best ever IMO. John Elway, one of the best NFL players of all time finally won the big game. The match itself was a great spectacle. Very close with no side totally dominating and the second last play where Steve Atwater gets knocked out was a grandstand finsih to a brilliant match.

There must be something about the name Steve and following the Steelers. I am in the same boat! Unfortunately I was born in 1982 but my uncles tell me '79 and '80 were great years in central PA. Not only did the Steelers get up, but Penn State went through a golden era as well.

1991 superbowl was a great game!. i remember watching that and felt sorry for the bills who missed the field goal on fulltime. i remember the Giants players jumping up and down on the sideline when the kick missed.
