It lays out the facilities, size etc. work is due to commence at the end of this year on stage one. Big games such as finals, SOO, Test matches etc would be played at Perth's new $1.5bill multi purpose stadium

Can't help rue the fact Labour got kicked out though, this was there plan for a sporting precinct, including a new AFL and Rectangle stadium at Burswood. That would have been an awsome area with two stadiums and the casino plus new riverfront restaurants etc.

Confirmed East stand will be stage 1
The State Government has reversed tack on the redevelopment of rectangular nib stadium in East Perth, deciding it will now include corporate facilities in the planned new eastern grandstand.
State Cabinet on Monday approved an increase in the grandstand project's budget to $95.1 million from $88.5 million so extra facilities can be included when it goes to tender later this year.
The stand will include 56 open corporate boxes, seating 420, and a 250-people barbecue terrace.

I agree the Burswood option would have been awesome but Labor did not opt for the Burswood plan - they went with the Kitchener Park plan for the new stadium. Which was dumb IMO

The latest announcement will see NIB stadium have 80+ corporate boxes. At around $1000 avg a box that will be a nice income boost for the Reds if they can engage local business to take up corporate sponsorships.

Latest article on nib redevelopment. Smacks of shoddy journalism, they are showing images that are outdated (East stand won't look like that) and they have the amount being spent wrong (actually $95.1mill) so I'm not sure I would take what else the article says as gospel!
