Video Card problem

As you know I just formatted my old laptop. Now I can't increase screen resolution beyong 640x480, and only have the option of 2 or 16 Colours. I'm under the impression it's because the Video Card is listed as "Standard Graphics PCI Adapter (VGA)" - I ran one of those programs which tells you everything about your computer and again that's the only card which came up.

What do I do to be able to increase resolution and get 256 Colours?

If you don't have your video drivers on a CD, either post me what the card is and I'll give you the drivers, or search the net.

What version of Windows do you use?

The computer in question is running 98SE.
