Week #2 saw every match get postponed due to weather or team commitments, except to the Bulls vs. Knights. The Philadelphia area was hammered with sever rain this weekend, and two of the 4 matches had to be postponed. The rain affected all the Sharks, Slayers, Fight, and Manta rays matches. The Raiders vs. Wildcats was postponed due to both teams had team commitments. All the games will be made up this week or at a later date.

The only match that was played was the Bulls being hosted by the Knights. The match was played Saturday night at 7 p.m. It was a great night, the rain held off, and the fans were treated to an excellent game of rugby league.

The Bulls played some of its best rugby in years. They traveled to the Big Apple with 25 players. This match saw the return of Tomahawk standout Chris Craig. Chris had to miss the 1st match do to a death in the family. The Bulls played this game for Chris, and each player wore a black band around their lt. arm. Dave Nui said, “We are not just a team, but we are all a family.”

The Bulls dominated most of the match, and came away with a convincing win. The score was in the area of 40-16. Even with Shayne Mains first two runs being tries the Knights never gave up. This young team kept fighting until the end. Matt Astill, Knights captain, should be very proud of his boys.

The Knights then hosted the Bulls to an after party at “The Great Gapsey” in lower Manhattan. Free beer and pizza, was given to players and fans.

Thank you to the Knights administration and team for a great match and being great a host. Good luck with the rest of your season. Keep updated to the AMNRL homepage for updates.

What do you mean the Cats and Raiders had team commitments? Thought the commitment they had was to play each other.
