Who would you have at fullback next year?

So we've heard nothing concrete about signing a fullback - only rumors. The chances are we could sign Kevin Locke from the Warriors considering the recently signined Sam Tomkins from England, so they may offload Kevin Locke - and who needs a specialist fullback most?

However, say we don't end up signing anyone, who would you put at fullback from the current squad?

I would go with Inu, for 2 reasons:

  1. Inu has played fullback before and IMO is competent in the position. He may be a centre, but can adapt for the position, and is safe and reliable under the high ball.
  2. Josh Morris is an excellent centre. I don't think it's pracitcal to put someone who is an excellent centre into fullback, where he'll be ok, but no great. We'll be losing one of our greatest attacking weapons by doing this.
Your thoughts/suggestions?

I don't know. I just don't know.

I think we need to recruit or build from 20's. Anyone in the current squad would be a fill in fullback. If Inu moves anywhere it should be wing. He's great on the wing.

He played left wing when he 1st came to us. He's been playing right centre since.

I think you are referring to Lafai who just doesn't work on the right but goes well on the left.

You guys have signed our gun 20's fullback/winger/centre Tyrone Phillips.

Still has one year in 20's but don't be surprised if he debuts during Origin or if injuries go down, he won't let you down.

Kills me that some of you will never get over that.
I'm over it, but it's something that you don't forget. It's not just that he walked out on the contract, it was everything before that, such as wanting Willie Mason to get fired then get his contract topped-up with what Willie was getting, and then saying "His respect for Willie had diminished" on the footy show because he 'walked out on the club'.

It's his own fault for getting mixed up with the wrong people.

I think Perrett is better though. Apparently Inu can't play on the other side of the field!

Perrett has experience at fullback having played quite a few games there for the Roosters during the years when Mini had his back problems. Out of those with first grade expereinec at your club at the moment, as an outsider looking in, he would be a decent choice.

I don't doubt Perretts ability as a fullback, however putting him there means that we'll be losing an awesome strike weapon as he can find the tryline from the wing.

Perrett is a great guy and has so many attributes but he also has some deficiencies which will be opened up at full back. Also lacks speeeeed.

Inu is too lackadaisical. His strengths are his power and step alogn with his skills wit the ball. He isn't suited to support play and urgency work in defence.
