There are games where Mason's view is very true. The Brisbane game for example. We should have put that game away very early. Had enough ball and field position to win two games.

The game against Canterbury. Should have got home there.

We most probably should have beaten Mlb. An attrocious display of discipline from the captain helped that one get away from us.

We've had enough go forward in a lot of games this year to put us into attacking positions but we've had a lot of difficulty getting over the line.

That said, our defence is an obvious weakpoint. If a team can get into our 20, they need not do a great deal to get over the stripe. We are fickle. Pathetic really. They need to fix that straight away. And that starts with all of them. Backs and forwards.

Nice article by Brandy in the Tele today highlighting Boyd's pitiful season to date and Gidley's inability to create anything from dummy half.

Their are no excuses for our form. We have a back line that was last season the most dangerous in the comp. Most teams would kill for our back five. I feel Mase is right. I feel Brandy is correct even more so.Boyd needs to get his shit together. It is not right that Bennett lets him get away with it. I feel if he dropped Boyd the rest of the team would respond. The sad part is Boyd was excellent in the trials in the 6. If you want to get radical you could always move Boyd into halfback and Mamo to fullback. The point being Boyd would have no choice but to get involved.

TBO I do feel like there is a good excuse for our form as I mentioned it in another thread. For the first half of the 9 games we were without Mullen and Boyd, plus Gidley was playing sh!thouse back then also. As a result our outside backs didn't get quality ball. Over the last 4 or 5 weeks, we've missed key forwards in Snowden, Mason, Sims). So our go forward was ordinary. As a result our outside backs didn't get any quality ball. When we were firing last year, we had virtually our best team on paper week after week. The team has chopped and changed way to much this year to gain consistency and confidence.

Plus when Alex's injury happened, heaps of people on here were saying that this will affect our season and this year was more about handling the Alex situation then winning the GF. A month and a half later and people have stopped focusing on that and are now frustrated that the team isn't performing.

Sucks for him but let's be honest he needs a time out in the corner.

I'd say Pat Mata'utia would be the most like for like replacement, he's about the same size and BJ

I know that is tongue in cheek Fred but Bennett has a habit of putting back rowers into centre.

Me, I would put in a specialist centre, either pat or Chanel. I know it's outrageous to use a player in their preferred position but what the hell.

Sione is too young isn't he? Is Tahu still injured? Whoever we pick it needs to be a genuine centre. Can't play blokes out of position against the Manly centres.

Gotta be Pat or Chanel. Wish it could be Sione but unfortunately, the football gods just aren't that kind to us :(

Scott out too (*shudder*). This is gonna get uuuggglllyyyyy.

We all finally get to see what McManus can do in the centres, I know a lot of us have wanted to see the move just to see how it works out.

Scott being out is a huge blow.

Scott being out was always on the cards, he was very unlikely to play.

I think macmanus will do ok at centre.

Won't make any difference to the end result.

I just hope it goes better than the Cooper Vuna to centre experiment we tried a few years ago. I'm still having horrific flashbacks lol.

At least it isn't in a game where this change is going to impact on the result at all.
