I thought that too when it was announced Kimmorley was announced. My list of replacements was:

1. Orford
2. Sherwin
3. Wing
4. Barrett
5. Finch

Blind Freddy

Wing at halfback would have been better.

But then who would be the "impact" player from the bench that Wing is supposed to be?

Kidley proved at City v Country he could play anywhere and have an impact of the bench. So i'd pick him

Maybe because he is a Ball Runner and NOT an organiser..

Wing is a ball runner not a ball player. he may have wore the 7 in 2002, but his halfback play didnt win it for us. For a majority he was shoved to second receiver and Freddy played the traditional halfback roll at first.

Wing is a great hooker, and the best dummy half runner in the game today. They need a specialist halfback at this level, and thats what Finch is, like him or hate him.

The other point I might highlight for all the experts is, if the forwards dont do their jobs Wednesday night, Freddy and Finch will do nothing. Nor would Gower, Orford, and/or Kimmorley.

Halves need room to weave. Room comes from forward dominance.

What a Load of Shit. You are running scared now Melon. What, If NSW wales lose and Freddy and Finch play like wankers, then all should be put squarely, on the face of the forwards ??

You guys will never ever stop with your propaganda machine will you.

Your forwards played very well in last seasons GF Melon. YOUR BACKS PLAYED SHIT..

Walker, Minichello and Finch.. 4 Dropped balls a Piece, and Finch was at his heart breaking worst when the adrenalin kicks in.

You have said it a number of times. Finch is not the player you need at Number 7 in the finals.

Freddys shoulder, Hope that handles the Drama

Why? Because melon has a view. And I respect that view and he backed it up with a fair call.

You on the other hand just said 'He is a bullrunner...dumbass" and my question was "well he was good enough to win a comp there" and I still think he could play half with freddy controlling.

St Dillpickle you are just paranoid. You give Saints fans a bad name.

You are a fool StGirlman and this thread confirms it. Not only do you hijack yet another thread and turn it against the roosters, your lack of understanding of the importance of how a good forward pack can aid a halfback's performance confirms you are a clueless twit.

I'd Agree. Wing+Fittler Worked in 2002 for the Roosters.

Their style of Football also Suits Origin. I suppose "The Combination" of Finch and Fittler using a style of Attack completely alien to the Roosters will do the trick though...

Surely someone...anyone...with ANY idea about league can answer in this imposter's place??!! Last years Grand Final imbecile, was lost in the ruck!!! Forwards missing tackles on Priddis, the real Penrith Hero, leading to tries.

Im not making a fool out of RPhin. Im just stating that if the forwards dont porovide the dominance for the halfback, the halfback doesnt do much else but tackle.

But you on the otherhand make a great fool, of yourself!!

Come back to me when The Socks make, let alone win a Grand Final in the next 10 years!!

They'll just use the Roosters style of attack now. Hooker, Half 5/8 all Roosters when Wing comes on. Could be good for NSW.

Maybe even NSW wales could adopt it.

............which is exactly why Gower was not able to play to the best of his ability in the first SOO. With the exception of Fitzy, the NSW forwards were not as effective as they could have been.

Yet you were one of the first people to come out in the forums and bag out Gower.

Now you want to post this just so you can cover your own butt, as well as Finch's, should they lose on Wednesday night

mate if finch plays a crap game, regardless of whether the forwards do win the ruck or not, a nsw halfback shuld be good enuf to hav a good game, if the forwards didnt win the ruck and johns was halfback do u think he would drop the ball 5 or 6 times or hav a terrible kicking game or just play crap.

More than likely he would look bad like he has done before when his forwards were well beaten.

How else did alfie have a blinder in his comeback game...his forwards pulversied NSW.

mate it is such an important factor in a halfbacks game
