I propose that the members on LU Forums vote their best team at the end of each year. Surely we can't do worse than the RL mag does in England.
The difficulties of comparing NRL and ESL are somewhat eased by seeing players in opposition to each other at international level.
It's jumping the gun but, before the 3N final has been played, I would suggest:
Mini (Webb's been good in the 3N but I don't rate him generally)
Tate (2 outstanding long range tries makes up for defensive lapses in one game)
Gasnier
Cooper
King (Just ahead of Carney who had that shocker v NZ)
Lockyer (A lack of options got him home)
Jones (Johns was unimpressive while carrying injury in the ANZAC games)
Fielden
Cunningham
Wiki
O'Donnell
Fitzgibbon/Morley
Kennedy
Once again, dominated by Australians though I may stand corrected if our Kiwi friends can throw up options. I just thought NZ's performance this 3N was about team more than outstanding individual performances.
Obviously, there's plenty of injured players that are worthy of consideration - Johns, SBW, Sculthorpe, Maguire, even Benji. And a couple may stake their claims with strong efforts this weekend. Roll on the Final.
