Dont really have room for signings such as Maiava and Covell, but at least the can provide us with some backups in case of injury.
I think Bickers, Kent, Stinky and others should also be signed on the cheap if for nothing but depth.

He would not in my side, great backup for BK.
We have Peachey to crab sideways, do not need two players like that IMO.
From what I have seen, Raper likes Bird quite a lot and I would expect him to get first crack.
Bird defends well, can't say his attack is what I would be after, but Stuey sure likes him.
I also like some youth in the side.

Dykes does not crab if the forwards dont shirk their resposibilities.

In fact, I believe his style is the most dangerous in the comp, but it requires other players for it to be complete.

I am still befugged on how he does that pass to himself. Then scores.
When there are bodies in motion on the iside & the players run at the gaps instead of trotting forward & watching dykes, he will put it in on their chest & they will score.
I bet Dykesy wishes he had the likes of Bickers playing out at Parra.
Runs & does what he is told.

Do you think we paid the reported figure of $200K a year for Dykes so he can play Premier League?
He will be the starting 5/8 next year and is IMO a better 5/8 than Greg Bird. I think Bird will be a very good player one day, but for mine Lock is his position.

Greg Bird is a utility.
He has kents position.

Bailey will be lock next year & Dykes will be 5/8th

Bailey & Dykes will be our leading try assist merchants.

Bird will probably play a variety of roles coming off the bench. & slotting in to any position as starter to cover injuries & or suspensions.

or suspensions.
Well , he will be the man for the job then , considering he has the most experience in this position in the whole comp this year.
Before Danny boy that is.

Scott Hill - more like Bird or Dykes?

And as far as lock goes, doesn't Hilder play that for 60 mins anyways?

200K insurance for BK.

And again I will say our attack is not our problem, Dykes does not improve our defence at all.

Attack is our problem Mr Angry.

How many times have we busted the 30 point mark this year?
we should have beaten the Rorters by 40 on the weekend.

Even the Tiges have busted 50 & they are the most geniused of attacking teams?

Here is a question.
The season is not over.
We are still a chance of putting in a decent showing should the teams current form continue.
Say we make the major semi and just lose to the Bulldogs.
Do you think Raper will discard players for new signings?

Defence wins games Reefy.
Yes we should have put more on the Roosters, but main thing was we keep them to 12. That won us the game.
Without our best play maker we managed 26 against the best defensive side in the comp.
You know as well as I do this team has not peaked, and when the big games come around, our defence will be the deciding factor. Our attack will fall into place.
Maybe we will put 50 on Parra, this season aiiin't over.
I will say our defence has improved lately.

I think he has already made his mind up on that & the answer is yes.
Look at Beattie & Bickers. Integral to our hopes this year & being flicked for new players.

Kimmorley and Hill worked well together in the City V Country , both ball players and both pretty dominant with the boot.

Kimmorely commented how they both had their own side of the feild to work with.

I can see him and dykes doing the same with Dykes offloading to the Backs while BK sets up the forwards.

dont worry about Dykesy. That bastard can play footy.
he was our best player in 2001 & rightly the 5/8th of the year. We had a good team with forwards who did their job & he went very well, without an established half back. But Geez the combo with Ferris could have been something.

Dykesies biggest problem is getting it through his brain, that there is a tomorrow & he doesnt have to make every play, a life or death matter. His current injury is because of trying too hard.

i m not as excited about dykes return as some...however i believe backflip is 100% right, the forwards are the key to his success.

and the word from the right source is that dykes will be 5/8 and bird lock....

i m more interested in this season..i still reckon we have a lot to look forward to.
