I'm still getting over the revelation made by Ben Ikin on NRL360 a few weeks back that, after doing some research, he had been reliably informed that the word "Gay" means homosexual. That is how you earn your own show.

Ikin was a versatile player that could virtually cover any position in the backline and even play some dummy half or lock if need be. Originally he was drafted in as a centre to replace Renouf but things weren't working out with Ben Walker and Ikin had more potential.

The problem with him was always consistensy. He could either be really good or be really shit.

That 2000 final against the Sharks sort of typified him a bit. He was woeful in the first half and Bennett just about made him cry in the sheds but he came back strong in the second and helped the Broncos take the game.

Ikin was quality at the Bears. Knee injuries wrecked him after that.

Speaking of the 90's, saw someone walking along in a Crushers jersey yesterday

Oh man, I remember this ad! I wasn't even a league fan at the time, but for some reason it always made me chuckle.

HAHAHA... I'd forgotten about that ad. Footy players and tv ads are generally a pretty bad combination, but that one was right up there.

Ikin's done pretty well for himself for someone who was really only a decent first grader (and I was a bears fanatic in his 'peak') and has the personality and intellect of a dairy cow.

I rate Walker higher. Even then I rated him higher. Ben Iken was injury prone and over-freaking-rated. No idea how he made origin.

Because there were only 16 other Queenslanders playing in the 95 comp who weren't signed to Super League contracts...

This was in response to an article written by Bourbon Becky that calling someone GAY doesn't mean you're calling someone homosexual rather you're calling someone lame or useless

He was saying that there is sufficient belief that calling someone a f**king gay merkin didn't actually mean "I think you are useless twot" but was actually sexual villification. Well meaning, but he didn't phrase it as well as he could.

I never miss NRL360 - it's a top show and Ben Ikin is a great presenter

I've been surprised by NRL360 aswell,I prefer it much more to Sterlo. They seem to tackle the issues a lot more, there's two many panel members on Sterlo.
