My comment was in reply to FortyTwenty's post. He enjoys using his full and eloquent vocabulary at every opportunity.

I recognise it?s not the best means of communication, for many. And I?ve been working on it. But growing up acutely dyslexic & unable to fully articulate my thoughts, I diligently worked upon and found a means through which to voice what?s in my mind. It?s not for everyone, and, again, I recognise that. So, again, apologies if I struck a nerve, and thanks for the reminder. I?ll try to observe the ?KISS? principle in this forum.

The goal we have set for ourselves in the Midwest is to get a Midwest Overall division, and 2 conferences within eventually, Lakes and Plains. Split like in 40/20's first picture. This is a long term goal, with wanting at least 4 teams in each before we split them up.

This is a great strategy. Four (4) teams is a very solid & stable structure that you?ll be able to operate and grow from. (Could say more, but I?ll stop myself here.)

Will there be any thought given to running any regional 2nd division comps? This would be extremely helpful for newer and weaker teams IMO. Looks at the Baltimore Blues for example, they could play a few years in a second division to get experience in the game and step up when they were good and ready. Also it gives an opportunity for stronger teams to run a 'B' side as well if numbers permit.

I don't pretend to be an expert but after reading through this thread I've come up with a rough conference & divison set-up.

North East

1st Division - Boston 13?s, Brooklyn Kings, Connecticut Wildcats, New York Knights, New York Raiders, Rhode Island Rebelion.

2nd Division - Southampton Dragons, 'B' Teams, Any New Teams

East

1st Division - Bucks County Shark, Charlotte Lions, D.C. Slayers, NOVA Eagles, Pennsylvania Bulls, Philadelphia Fight.

2nd Division - Baltimore Blues, Pittsburgh Sledgehammers (?), 'B' Teams, New Teams

South East

1st Division - Atlanta Rhinos, Central Florida Warriors, Jacksonville Axemen, Tampa Mayhem

2nd Division - Jacksonville Axemen B, Miami?, Orlando?, Daytona?

Midwest - (2nd Division only to start perhaps?)

Chicago Stockyarders, Iowa City Crash, Utah Avalanche?, ???

Just a rough guess at what it could look like, I'm sure some of the people here based in the US could give a more accurate version of what such a system could look like.

Great concept and yes we are looking at a Grade B comp. We just need to develop the model that makes sense while not putting undue burdern on a developing team. Thanks for the breakdown. Its a great start.

Are there any plans with regards to the Hawaiian situation? Will the USARL open their arms in help with the western coast ie: Seattle, Oakland teams etc?

Also I love the fact that a lot of the USARL identities are on social media and are totally transparent with what's happening with the game, something that was completely lacking with the previous organisation what was running the game in the US.

Good to hear, IMO it's an essential step forward at some point in the near future. I like the way the comp has split into conferences and 2nd divisions is the next logical step. Having a new team with mostly newbies getting flogged by 60+ by established teams does nobody much good IMO. Also a golden oppurtunity for stronger teams to field 2nd or even under 20's sides against developing teams.

Talk like a normal person NERD!!!

I actually appreciate your grammar and effort to communicating clearly and properly.

But what I find REALLY funny is that your writing style is being addressed on a rugby forum... Lol

So far only the Knights have applied, but I am sure the others will as well. However, if teams do not apply before the USARL meeting in September will they be excluded? Is that a hard deadline?

Many of the players and organizers also play and help to run Rugby Union teams in the Spring/Fall. I'm just wondering if union obligations may delay some entrees.

What kind of question is this? If you don't follow the procedures to apply for something then you can't expect to be part of it, it's as simple as that.

Agreed. The application isn't difficult or asking about/for anything that existing clubs shouldn't be able to answer/provide. Shouldn't have to hold grown men's hands...

Wing, teams won't be excluded and we might have to adjust everything after the RLIF meets and votes on our application in early Sept. I sent everything out a little soon trying to get everything in before our board meeting on Sept 20/21. It would actually make more sense to have all apply after the RLIF votes. ideally we would like to have a schedule put together by no later than end of Nov so that we can approach our regular sponsors early and possible big league sponsors with a schedule as they are always asking for it when we ask for $$.

Sheesh, that was pretty harsh, was just asking the question on a public forum so the answer Fighter gave was available to anyone viewing this forum. Making sure everyone understands the deadline. Not asking anyone to hold my hand lol.

Next year should be a historic year that is more competitive than any year prior. I can't wait.

You'll have to forgive EH, he can be a bit abrasive at the best of times. A career in the diplomatic corps sadly slipped through his fingers (awaits EH's tactful response).

I wasn't at the meetings this weekend as I was working all weekend (and my parents were flying in Sun night from the UK) but from what I have seen just a lot of procedural stuff to do with the existing USARL LLC and how it will work alongside the new USARL 501(c)3 (The not for profit needed to apply for RLIF, RLEF and US Olympic Committee status).

Hopefully a round-up will be out in the public domain in the near future. An email update was sent to US Rugby League stakeholders on Monday by Peter Illfield.
