ROCK ‘n’ roll and rugby league are back with this year’s NRL grand final day set to be headlined by a Hall of Fame guitarist and a Grammy award winning band.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the NRL are planning to announce popular US band Train and Slash, the former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, as the pre-game entertainment for the October 5 decider at ANZ Stadium.

Train, whose hits include Drops of Jupiter and Hey Soul Sister scored the US rock act three Grammy awards, will also release their seventh album next week.

The announcement of Slash to the grand final day entertainment is an obvious fit with his sizzling solo work providing the theme music for Nine’s NRL finals coverage.

The arrival of both rock acts underlines a week-long celebration ahead of the grand final, with details for fans set to be announced by the NRL in coming days.

so to summarize, a guitarist from an 80s hair band who most people probably haven't heard of and the rest of the band who no one has ever heard of

great scoop for NRL fans

Too bad the Channel Nine viewers won't see it.

If I'm not mistaken, they tend to yap on about what we have already witnessed then go for extended commercial breaks which leads no time for Slush to be seen.

But I suppose it's better than having a singer from one of those singing reality shows singing "I still call Owsdtraaahlia, home"

I think most people would recognise the songs...

Hopefully the do at least a few classics rather than JUST promote a new album
