He needs to bait locations other than the roof, but it won't be over in a few days. The little merkins have to drink, which means they have to leave the roof. They like heating / ac ducts too.

Of course, there is also the old fashioned rat trap.

Any tips on how to get mice/rats out of roof? Ive thrown stacks of rat poison up there but there not dying

i have heard cottonballs dipped in pure peppermint oil will repel mice & rats because their noses are so much more sensitive than ours its like pure ammonia to them and as a bonus it will give your house that macleans feeling

I put the poison up there about a week ago.The poision is a few yrs old but I doubt it goes off.
Anyhows I can still hear them.I thought they die in 2-3 days.

Funny story.One night me and a mate saw a mice in his kitchen.We put some food on a trap.He would sniff it but not touch.Than we put food on floor.He would grab it and take it away eat it.We tried diff foods on the trap and floor.Each time it would smell the trap food but not touch but take away the food on the floor.
It was a bloody smart mouse.I heard that they work mouse traps out once see another mouse get hit by one.
