No, I think the idea of only having local juniors in your HM and SG Ball teams is archaic. It's great that we have such a strong local junior base but I don't think we should be only looking at our local juniors. I prefer we keep utilising the system that we have now. We've brought in some good kids from districts across NSW, QLD, and NZ and now we're branching into N.T.

I'm not diminishing our locals in anyway, but I still think we should strive to get the best juniors from across all regions.

So, you would be happy to have no junior clubs in the district, just feed on everyone else. As you know I am involved in junior league, that is a very shortsighted, and a jaundiced overview from clubs like the Rorters who were happy to give their few junior clubs to Souffs and do buggar all except leech on everyone else

Certainly not in the best interest of the game

We obviously gain some benefit (I would say it builds our fanbase) from supporting junior clubs in our area. But clearly that hasn't translated into onfield success. That's why we needed to go back to poaching junior players too, just like the successful clubs, and just like we did under Brian Smith.

Anyway, doesn't the NRL support junior rugby league? That would be better for the game than having them rely on support from NRL clubs.

Simple, parra and Penrith spend a lot moron jumior development rough their junior league and elite training , the Rorters just buy 17/18 year olds ( see Pearce for instance who was offered 3 times more by them as a 15 year old than any other club) . Play them in NYC or Ball and call them juniors.

FPN, JWH etc were all paid overs and it worked out for them, but they spend it on developed juniors not developing them. Jakiel Mariner is Tyrel Fuimano's brother, signed and playing in NYC

Jakiel isn't Tyrels brother even though he used to go by Jakiel Fuimoano. Believe they may be cousins.

All clubs import players at matts and ball it is a smart way to produce competitive teams and supplement these with the strong local juniors. Roosters have done very well turning their 15 - 17 year old recruits into first graders considering there small local junior base. Parra are catching up, we do exactly the same. Nolan got us back into being competitive in the market and our junior teams are all the better for it. So is our future. You mention Pearce brought in as a 15 year old the same age we brought in Tyrell outbidding penrith as well as ZDC and Moeroa all St Clair juniors. In fact go through the dominant NYC squad less than half have spent all there time as parra juniors. The following haven't

French
Oloapu
Newbigging
Anderson
Lussick
Aloiai
Li
Goodall
Brady
Bush
ZDC
Folau
Fuimoano
Kamikamica
Lavaka
Moeroa
Tagilima
Daoud
Muna

That's 19 out of 31.

Gee sounds like you do have a big one casper.Guess that's what keep mrs casper happy.
We see nature/the garden as our body. Many in "The System" see Woolworths, Coles, Big Pharma, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, etc, as their body. The food forest garden we created demonstrates how to grow a vast amount of healthy living-food abundance in small spaces, with little money. We live to inspire anyone we can reach that creating and sharing the produce of food forest gardens with each other without barter, trade, commerce, etc, will get rid of a vast array of unnatural issues plaguing communities, almost everywhere.

Apparently Russell Packer has signed a 2 year deal with Penrith.

http://www.news.com.au/national/pen...twoyear-contract/story-e6frfkp9-1227072525934

I will be interested to see what happens here, given that he is not an Australian citizen and he is currently serving a 2 year prison sentence for an indictable criminal offence. I understand it to be standard practice of the Department of Immigration to immediately deport non-citizens upon their release from prison after an indictable criminal offence.
