I think Matai would be a terrific signing if possible. Great in both attack and defense. Unlikely though.

I only mention him because him and Watmough are pretty tight. The Warriors reported offer though is 500k-600k a season so we can't probably afford that but Hoffman with some Broncos subsidy could be a great deal. I think he's an excellent centre in attack

Looks good except I would have Brad Takairangi (if he comes) in place of Morgan. And not sure if Robinson will be Arthur's first choice at wing.

Me too. I hope he comes.

Yeah, the other wing spot is up for grabs. I'm looking forward to seeing how a few of the candidates do in the pre season.

I really don't get the Norman hate.
He wasn't great this season, but he definetly wasn't as bad as some on here are saying

He was basically our 7 allowing sandow to play his natural instinctual game, any wraps for sandows improvement needs to acknowledge Norman for a large % of that

I reckon Norman was playing more of a left half than a traditional #7. If anything Sandow was more traditional as he was the main play-maker, the ball more often than not would go down the right and he was the dominant kicker. Both organise their own sides as well. Norman would have rarely spoken or organised Hoppa and Sandow would have been the same with Semi.

Norman helped Sandow out a lot this year, Norman for mine looked like the organiser of the team.

Considering he obviously was having troubles with his knee as well, I think he did a good job this year. Obiously lacked a bit of speed this year, but that will come back after he has a chance to rest the knee.

so thats why we were as unorganised as all shit most the year ;-)

I'd say Norman had a very inconsistant year - some games he was quite good, but some quite poor .... a ben roberts-esque type season

Probably not the highs and lows of a Ben Roberts though. Benny could make a break with his light stepping through the defence but then drop the ball cold with 20 metres to run.

Exactly. Ben Roberts is a match winner and loser. Norman makes good decisions but only has an impact when his forwards roll forward. Big difference.

The times he propped and looked clueless are the moments that really stand out. It suggests he might not have the brains to be a good half. It's hardly definitive proof tho.

It's looking better already with Watmough in the 2015 team... we just need to poach a quality back (fullback/centre) to replace our deserter, and things will be looking positive again!
