That's almost as many starters as the Melbourne Cup!

Fitzgerald is back...? And no Spagnolo - at least not in an elected capacity *beware behind the scenes*.

I presume Ray Price would no longer be with 3P after his previous tilt under their name.... being used as a "club legend" alongside Kenny, just to get a foot in the door for the 3P cowboys.

Wonder if Eric Grothe is still aligned with the old Sid Kelly/Lyn Wallace/3P gang?

Oh, and best of luck Jodeci :thumn.

Grothe Snr is still aligned with Wallace and Kelly

The interesting one will be the make up of Dennis's ticket.

His team is made up of ex Parra First team mates and friends who supported them, interesting.

So we have the Sharp ticket, the Wallace ticket and the Fitzgerald ticket. Where do the others sit?
Are they independants or is there still a 3P ticket without Roy nominating?

For example Jodeci are you running independantly or as part of a ticket?

I hope we voting members get clear communication as to who is on what ticket so those of us who choose to vote outside of tickets in an attempt to remove factions can make an informed decision.

One of the bigger factors despite his 1yr relationship with Brad was we were/would be the only club in the NRL who would give him the kind of money he demanded.

Would I be wrong in saying he would be the highest paid backrower in the comp or close to at the age of 32 next year?

depends on what figures you want to bandy about.

the general consensus is that he's on 600k a season with us + what manly owes him for next season.

some players to benchmark this against with speculated figures;

- ryan hoffman warriors 533k
- adam blair at west tigers 500k
- shaun fensom 500k
- frank pritchard 500k
- tony williams 600k
- trent merrin chasing 500-600k
- dave taylor 400k
- beau scott 500k
- luke lewis 450k
- glen stewart 500k

most of these were quoted off zero tackle.

looking at these, is watmough a seasoned campaigner at the highest level really on much higher than that what that class would dictate?

i don't think there's anything mysterious or sinister in there

He will be earning something very close to the amount of around $900,000 next season.

It's not his fault either, he tried to be loyal to Manly and took pay cuts to keep the playing group together and was promised the reported $950,000 for his final year of his contract. Manly for obvious reasons couldn't come up with the cash to make this happen and part of the release for next year is that Manly contribute 30% of that $950,000 and we come up with the rest.

Good on him for earning that amount. He was put in this situation by his former club, nothing much he could do nor the new management could do at Manly either.

At this stage I'm running alone.

I'm actually happy that Fitzy is running, I'm not quite sure whether or not I would vote for him but a bloke like him who still has a bit of pull in the media and knows the constitution back to front would be an interesting choice...

As for anyone running a ticket??... f**k em! It'll creates more division within the club, I will be voting for individuals and not tickets.

So Spags nominated and was rejected as a rorter or he's fallen on his sword ?

He nominated and it was rejected cause they believe he is not a financial member meaning he hasn't had a season ticket for 3 years consecutive.

One of the reasons is the auditors can't close the books on the PDRL as there is a substancial amount of money the PLC want back from the PDRL (approx $170,000) and also the guarantee that the LC makes to the PDRL regarding funding which hasn't been supplied yet. Every year, the LC gives the auditors in writing a document to say that the PLC will fund the shortfall required for operating expenses of the junior league and our junior reps sides, etc.

How do I find out details of unpublished financials?
Actually how did you find out and where is the source?

I did what most people would of done when nominating themselves to run and I asked a current board member from both the LC and PDRL asking them in why the delay and that's what they told me plus the returning officer also told me on the phone there are a "few" issues that need to be sorted out.

I was also advised an apology will be on the Eels website within 24 hours.
