I love Fed, but id rather him go out on a high, than getting beat blokes who would have no chance against him 3-4 years ago. Seppi may well get blown off the court by a 19yr old, 30 hours from now

A few years ago, probably 2004 or 2005 when Courier first came on board, there was a segment during commentary which I'll get to.

At the Australian Open, they use high-quality balls, and these special Wilson balls cost $15 each - yes, each. They are specially designed for the Aus Open to be as durable as possible. If these balls get hit into the crowd before the umpire calls "new balls", the spectators must throw them back onto the court - standard procedure.

Courier criticized Tennis Australia for this rule saying the spectators should be able to enjoy the ball as a memento or something along those lines, and said that Tennis Australia needs to "get with the times" - in other words he was calling our country backwards.

In the US Open, they use standard $3 Wilson balls.

So... let's review shall we:

• Courier says Tennis Australia is backwards for not allowing fans to keep an expensive $15 ball which is specifically made for the tournament (hey, in Rugby League, Soccer etc... they don't allow fans to keep the balls)...
• US Open uses cheap $3 balls
• Tennis Australia is behind... despite the fact that at the time we had TWO arenas with a retractable roof (now 3 arenas) to ensure games will continue regardless of rainy weather etc...
• The US Open had no arenas with a roof at the time, now they have 1

So... It looks like the US Tennis needs to get with the times Jim, you dickhead!
