so we know that our 2015 centre options are somewhat disappointing.

but what are we looking at for 2016.

are our future centres going to come from our juniors?

At the knights they are looking at resigning the Matautia brothers possibly forcing out on of their centres, Both BJ and Gagai would walk into our side.

The panthers are another team with promising juniors coming through trying to break into an already strong backline.

Chasing Foran for bucketloads may pay off, but id be looking at strengthening our weakest position for next year.

Well, one of our centres next year could be Will Hopoate, don't forget. And if we are seriously looking at Johnson from Souths (who wants to play fullback) as a potential recruit, then maybe we'll only be one centre short of a very good backline. Of course, if Crooks comes on, he's another option. And then, of course, Corey Norman could be an option for fullback, too. There's a lot potential scenarios that could play out in our backline. too early to tell. But I agree - I hope we don't pay too much for Foran (under the cap).

Davis?
Folau?
Toutai?

We may need to use our cheap juniors if we end up paying big for Foran and upgrade Hoppa.

Davis is probably the best centre prospect we have long-term. With that said the club are persisting with him at fullback in the NYC, where he continues to improve so I'm exactly not sure what pathway Brad Arthur has plotted our for him to first grade.

Davis definitely looks good. Cannot believe how much he has filled out. He reminds me so much of a young Greg Inglis, especially his running style.

His younger brother Cameron is making his SG Ball debut on the wing this Saturday. Apparently he is taller than Nathan and is a fair talent in his own right.

Are our centres really that bad for this year? Yeah they aren't origin stars but Beau has always been pretty good just injury prone, when fit can score try. While Mr T has potential. Look at the other sides not many have great centres, for example for round one souths have reddy. Cowboys have linnett / wright, while decent they arent everywhere near rep quality.

Assuming Champion can stay fit I think he and Takaraingi will get the job done, which should be all we need given that the strength of our team this year is our forward pack.

Davis is one of the better internal candidates to take over from either of them if they are not re-signed.

yeah im not saying our centres this is year are that bad, although I did use the word disappointing.

I just think we need atleast one good strike centre if are to move forward.

Il have to keep a keen eye on Davis, he sounds like he has potential.

I think 2-3 months in NYC then around 8-10 games in the NSW cup then back to NYC would do Davis very well. He just glides across the field. He'd look good next to KF.

our centres this year look better than last year (on potential).

If he fires, Champion is fringe Origin level.
Taka is a real handful out wide, very hard to handle.

I am mildly concerned over Taka defensively, mainly being in the right position. But both he and Champion have legit size, and make us stronger defensively out wide than we were last year.

Would still prefer Takairangi over Morgan defensively. He may not be optimally positioned all the time but I have way more confidence in his defensive shot calling compared to Morgs. In saying that I am pretty confident you would agree there omc as truth be told that isn't really a big compliment to Takairangi.

I thought Semi was decent physically in one-on-one defence last year given his relative experience so if Takairangi can make clean calls and give him a fair shot at his opposing winger I think that edge should be solid enough in most situations.

We have a pretty big backline:

Hoppa 186 cm 96kg
Radradra 190 cm 105kg
Takairangi 194cm 108kg
Champion 186 cm 98kg

That should help with rucking it off our line.

Yeah - 100% with ya!

I'm more worried about who is inside the centres this year... (ie Chrissy)

Shame that Kenny got injured as he did a fair job of protecting Sandow last year, even if he chalked up a few missed tackles himself.
