I wonder when the Roosters and Dogs will start being stripped of players.
Storm sat at the top for a while before being stripped of stars, then it was Manly's turn to be stripped.
Souths will be next and the Roosters are stacked and should be stripped, The dogs are also looking like a Blues origin team as well.

Then you have the pubteams outside sydney who are just making up the numbers.

Scrap the cap, it's crap.

Good on DCE for the move....

The only problem i have is the timing, but thats an issue of the system rather than the bloke himself. Its fine that he has pissed of Manly fans (its actually good for interest in the game), but this should be happening in November NOT in round 1....

Hurt?

I knew he was gone last week. (See earlier posts)

Better off without him. The only thing I am pissed about is the shitstorm he caused at the club before he jumped ship.

On with the show!

LoL, better off without arguably the best halfback in the game who still has 8 or so years left in the game?

ok.

Yeah you're going to be better off with that 18 year old whothef**kisthatguy stumbling and f**king up next year.

much better off.

To be fair to Manly.... They were supposed to be f**ked after they lost Trent Hodkinson to the dogs.

The next season they brought on a young unknown kid named Dally Cherry-Evans...

Atleast thats how I remember it anyway...

You can never say anything with any certainty in this league.... But more often than not clubs with strong cultures tend to land on there feet when they lose a superstar...

I'm sure Manly will be okay...

According to Henry on the Footy Show this morning, there is a chance Daly could play for Titans this season. He must be desperate to get on the coke.

And before that when Orford left and they got Hodgkinson, they keep finding halfbacks.

Manly will see it as a challenge, let's hope they don't respond the way uncultured teams do and buy their way out at the expense of other teams

I can't see it happening. I do wonder about the reception DCE will get at Brookie this season.

If Manly had another option, it would probably be a good idea. Honestly can't see him taking us far this season with all the crap he will cop from the fans.

The timing and methods of this are terrible. Him actually leaving is fine. I think we will be better off in the long run. He doesn't fit the culture. He is a quality player, however the damage he has caused cannot be measured for a few seasons yet. Hopefully the management have taken this on board. No player is bigger than the club. The second they try, move them on immediately.

We will be in rebuild mode short of a miracle next season.

Matt Ballin was totally against moving him on. Can only assume the Manly players are giving DCE their full support.

Maybe their fans should follow suit and take the news with a bit more tact.

Which club is @DaveSmithNRL and his @GCTitans going to steal players off next.

Who woke the baby.

Wow, Buzz went even more full genius than he usually does. Stealing? Signing a player who is coming off contract is stealing? What a moron. I suspect Phil would rather the Titans just sign all the nice players the other clubs don't want...that'll ensure success and sustainability.

If Manly manage to keep Foran now (which I don't think they will) it'll be a massive success. DCE is a vastly overrated player. The Shane Watson of the NRL - built a reputation on bullying lesser sides with the odd decent performance against heavyweights. Queensland certainly suffered for his participation.

And if he wants to go to the Titans for the cash, good luck to him. But enjoy having September off every year and not coming within a million miles of a premiership - a truly competitive player would go elsewhere for a bit less to win titles.

But they also had a core squad of the Stewarts, Watmough, Lyon, Foran, Matai etc.

Now those players are either gone, going or old as f**k

He's already won titles, now he gets to cash in and earn mega-bucks and by the time his contract runs out he'll still only be 30.

He's done the right thing, maybe could've done it a better way but short term butthurt from his former club is a small price to pay, im sure it won't keep him awake at night.

Do you expect anything less than butthurt though? I'm a Manly supporter, wish Cherry all the best, we really can't complain. I mean we've had a pretty good run for some time, but! I can see how supports are unhappy. No one wants to see him go. Any club would show butthurt, losing such an important player. Especially when it's a player that has come right up through the system.
