So wait - I said English RL still has plenty of potential to exploit its heartland to the fullest, you bag me for it and in the same breath say Manchester is the most important market.

WireMan logic...

Did I?

I suggest you read my post before trying to figure my logic.

Its easier that way and you don't sound foolish, again... ;-)

So you want to give less teams something to play for compared to the system last year that was scrapped because not enough teams had something to play for?

If they wanted to scrap something it should be the semi finals after the 8.
Award a proper prize after the first league, use the positions for the fixtures but take away the points and have a straight shoot out for a grand final place.
Then every point really will matter.

as someone who hates the "sky cup" im surprised you seem to support the 8s mate...

I hate the sky cup, that is why I'd make the first league important and not just a qualifying comp.

I'd also remove the semis as the final r8 will see teams rest players as they keep there points so 2 teams will be out of it before it starts. At least a top 2 keeps people honest. Remove the points so everyone has an equal chance.

I'd rather my team finish 9th than 8th in the current format. At least you get to see new teams, the games will matter (no points at the start) and you get to see them win (hopefully). :)
