hopefully lussick can continue to stand tall and someone like gower or wicks can now step up
But they seem to be perfectly ok with hanging an arm out chin height on a guy running full ball?
And I remember way back when they wanted to crack down on players throwing punches. I suppose now with Bogan injured certain judiciary members won't want to hurt Jack "Laurie Nichols" Wighton's chances of playing Origin
As much as I think Juniors pending suspension is excessive, I also think that the hoopla over the Moses "coathanger" is over the top. Nothing much in it. Penalty sufficient.
http://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2015/03/10/eels_to_request_paul.htmlThe Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today informed the NRL that they intend to dispute the grading of prop Junior Paulo’s Dangerous Throw charge.
Paulo has been charged with a Grade 3 Dangerous Throw for his tackle on Manly-Warringah’s Matt Ballin in Friday night’s Round One match up, and the Eels will appear on his behalf via our regular Senior Counsel on Wednesday night.
Parramatta will ask the judiciary to downgrade the charge, and has informed the NRL of its willingness to accept a lower grade.
As an example, if the Eels are successful in seeking a downgrade to a Grade 2, Paulo will plead guilty, receive a 25% discount, and miss 4 NRL games.
If the club is unsuccessful, Paulo will miss 9 games.
If the club had accepted an early guilty plea for the current Grade 3 charge, Paulo would have missed 7 games.
In the view of the Eels, this is not a Grade 3 offence, and all decisions in relation to such charges are made in consultation with the player and advisors.
Thats ok oldman, its a forum, its about expressing different views. Its interesting to hear others thoughts even if we don't always agree with them.
I am glad we are disputing the grading, completely disproportionate imo
Tony Williams got about 6-8 weeks in his last season at Manly when he tackled a bloke across the shoulders and the momentum in his legs made him flip backwards. Given the loading and carryover points it makes the punishment appear disproportionate to the crime but it's probably pretty fair. Ballin landed on the side of his head and could have been severely injured.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n6Nb6mEtbk momentum, really? Isaac was running forwards and then Williams flips him backwards, where's the momentum in that? De Gois lands on the top of his head and if it wasn't for the strength of Williams flipping him all the way over he could have crumbled on the top of his head, De Gois could have been severely injured.
