South Africa reach 200 in the 37th over with 7 wickets in hand. NZ desperately need some wickets in the next few overs.

That drop is going to cost the Kiwis heaps.

Whoever dropped that is going to have nightmares if NZ end up falling short in the run chase. It wasn't the easiest chance, but you have got to take those in crucial matches such as a semi-final.

Whats the rule for rain if the game doesn't finish?

They probably have tomorrow set aside to finish it.

Correct.

All finals matches have a reserve day, meaning that a full 50 overs per side match will ensue unless inclement weather also occurs on the reserve day, in which case Duckworth-Lewis comes into the equation if a full match cannot be completed by the end of the reserve day.

However, if hypothetically there was no more play either today or tomorrow, NZ will advance through to the final as they finished higher in their pool.

I thought I heard one of the commentators say in one of the earlier games that they'd try to finish the game on the day via Duckworth Lewis, but if the game doesn't reach that length of time it'd get carried over, though I'm not sure whether the game state carries over or whether they start fresh..

Just a recap of the playing conditions. We begin losing overs only after an hour's play is lost. In case the match is not completed today, we have a reserve day tomorrow with play resuming from where it stops. If we have lost overs today, and then a further interruption pushes us into tomorrow, the match will continue to be a curtailed one. If over two days we don't get a result, New Zealand will go through by the virtue of having finished higher in the group stages
I must repeat that my stating the playing conditions has nothing to do with the weather conditions right now. This shouldn't be a very long interruption. At any rate if the interruption is long enough to not allow South Africa bat any further, the target for New Zealand is likely to be 264 in 38 overs

That will be one hell of a run-chase if that happens
