Seriously apart from the stupid round 13 rule, I do not see much wrong with the current player transfer process. Most of my mates are league fans and it rarely comes up for discussion, I see it as a media beat up trying to create an issue bigger then what it is - like they always do.

One area I do think needs some fixing is giving clubs some benefit for developing/investing in juniors.

James Tedesco also backflipped on the Raiders to re-sign with the Tigers something like 10 days after he signed with Canberra. Luke Lewis backflipped, as did Steve Turner, and a Tigers player did it to the Dragons...one of their halves who's name escapes me at this point in time. It has been happening for a while.

Yep, everybody involved in the transaction knew exactly what the deal was when they made their decision. DCE and the Titans each signed a deal knowing that Manly had the right to up their offer subsequently, and that DCE had the right accept an offer from Manly prior to Rd 13. That's what the NRL clubs as a whole wanted when they introduced the rule a few years back. What they might not have suspected was that some player agents would start using the rule as simply part of the bargaining process.

Because they are the ones leaking everything to the media, the media will go easy on them while ever they are getting stories out of them.

I think the main reason DCE is copping it is from media pressure from manly insiders / club associates.

They have portrayed him badly in the media them apparently are trying to lure him back at the same time.

If I was him I'd tell them to stick their new offer up their arse.
