Game Pass

Interesting "Hayne" effect this week.

I signed up for a trial game pass. On Wednesday this week I get a call from NAB card services asking about a purchase from NFL.com.

I explained the GP trial and also about Hayne being involved. The bloke was from Melbourne and basically said "that explains it".

Apparently they had a surge in nfl.com purchases from NSW customers - enough to flag something that got them calling customers. In his words - "heaps" of NSW customers had signed up for GP/GP trials in last week.

Got it a few days. Love it.

On the page it says it has games back as far as 2009, but it actually goes back to 2011. Only disappointment, as I was looking for a specific game from that season, the one where Stafford throws the winning TD v Browns with a dislocated shoulder.

I watch on an iPhone, and it's mostly clear. Actually it was go fuzzy, but still watchable at its worst.

the back catalogue is f**king great too, often when im bored i just go back and just watch a redzone session from some random week or put on some random game and just watch it for kicks

GP is the f**king best

.

Now that I have unlimited broadband I can watch it when I want for as long as I want. The kids with their xbox live and endless viewing of videos used to drive me batty with how much data they would chew up.

You know what i watched the other day, Kurt?
The Rams-Broncos game that basically ended the Broncos season last year... f**k that Rams DL was terrifying that day!

I'm expecting them to start that way this season since it's the same scheme as last year. A first for this team under Fisher.

Now with a starting calibre qb after 25 games of soul destroying back ups the rams should make some noise.

If the oline let's them. Surely it can't be worse than last year's tripe.

The Web version goes back to 2009. Iphone app only lists until 2011

my Samsung smart tv won't play the game pass video or videos from nfl.com.

You tube videos no worries.

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having issues with a list of supposed free NFL streams.

But I suppose I deserve to be having issues with that.

Mines working fine and worth every penny. As the Browns wont be shown on espn any time soon, only way to genuinely follow the team. Cant wait to see Shelton unleashed. He's looked good in pre season thus far.

I do play it through wifi when watching it on my tablet yes. I had an issue early last year with it freezing every now and again and with picture quality dropping out, but it went away. Nothing more frustrating than the feed buggering up at 4am on a Monday morning.

GP is crashing for me - no video. I think it's a Win10 issue.

Any ideas? Crashes consistently after I try and choose anything to watch. Can navigate OK.

Thing that irritates me,and I've complained a few times,is that they show the scores from the other matches.

This is a huge spoiler when I want to watch games without knowing the score.

The trick that I do is form a piece of cardboard to fit across the ribbon scores at the bottom of the screen and affix it at both ends with tape.

You have to do this every week though.

And the price has increased due to the Aussie dollar being below the yank $.

I paid $177 AUD.But I didn't get the add-on year round package.

But you can see how much $ interest Hayne has attracted.Methinks most of these people that bought a subscription have really jumped the gun,and ehould have waited until the middle of next week to see if he makes the roster.

And people have to understand, even if he makes the cut,IMO he will make the practice squad.

Practice squad basics

  • Each NFL team can have up to eight players on their practice squad.
  • Practice squad players ... practice with the team. They do not play in games.
  • Not all players are eligible to be signed to NFL practice squads (more on that below).
  • Practice squad players are paid per week and can be released at any point during the season.
  • Practice squad players are free to sign with other NFL teams, assuming they are signed to the 53-man active roster. A practice squad player cannot be signed to another practice squad unless he is first released.
  • A practice squad player can not sign with their team's upcoming opponent, unless they do so six days before the upcoming game or 10 days if their team is currently on a bye week.
  • If a practice squad player is signed to the active roster, they will receiver a minimum of three paychecks, even if they are released before spending three weeks with the team.
  • In order to be signed to a practice squad after being released, a player must first clear through waivers.

Eligibility

Practice squads are considered to be for developmental purposes. Therefore, veterans are not eligible to be signed to the practice squad. Here is a closer look at the eligibility requirements.

  • A player is eligible if he does not have an accrued season of NFL experience. Players gain an accrued season by being on the active roster for at least six games.
  • If a player has one accrued season, they can still be practice squad eligible if they were on the 45-man active gameday roster for less than nine regular season games.
  • A player is deemed to have served a season on the practice squad if he remains on the practice squad for at least three weeks. Players are eligible to be on the practice squad for two seasons.
  • Players can be eligible for a third practice squad season if their team maintains no less than 53 players on the active/inactive list at all times.
