The fact that he and Mannah are the only players eligible for the LTP discount is (to some extent) relevant. If anything were happen to Mannah we'd potentially throw away the LTP discount and effectively have a lower cap than every other club.

It doesn't matter whether he is discounted or experienced.

He is shit.

He's not good enough for first grade.

Having him is like playing with twelve.

He's a walking send-off.

He should be paying us to play.

I believe the LTP starts from the Under 20s, so outside of Morgan and Mannah who would be the next person to qualify and when would that likely be?

I think it would cost more than 300 to replace them.

We'd be paying them more than 1 million

But we would have to essentially have to pay 3 different players more than $1.3 million to replace them (if we paid the 3 new players the same).

PS - I doubt we're paying Terepo, Morgan and Mannah combined more than $1million a season.

So essentially Terepo, Morgan and Mannah's contract are subsidized by the long standing player allowance. Whereas if we let them all go and bought similar level players, it would actually cost us $300k to do so.

Yes. That is correct.

So if, say, Mannah was on $300k, Morgs was on $80,001 and Terepo on $100k (total $480,001) and let them all go, our Salary cap expenditure would only fall by $180k. So to break even in cap terms, we'd have to replace them with 3 blokes totalling $180k (which is not possible due to minimum wage stuff....but you see the effect).

I think it's fair to say that that that trio would probably be on around the $700k mark combined. Finding three players of similar quality to do the job for $400k would probably be a stretch...

Thats the bit some gastronomically eager posters dont get, i doubt the other 2 are on massive coin so the lowest paid is pretty much for free on the books. Why not resign him?

I think Tanginoa coming back prompted the decision to let Alioia go. Tanginoa is bigger, has more experience and is a similar player.
