.....and Hiku is just about to turn 23, he's still very young and will get better.

Manly are pretty stupid if they do let him go, they should be really letting Matai / Lyon or Stewart leave, they all going to be 30 plus in 2016.

What is the use of signing a young talent like walker but letting another young talent leave

If Hiku was faster he would be outstanding. Would be a massive upgrade to our backline, could play FB, wing or centre. Would give some nice options with Gutho and Gordon as to who plays where.

Well if Hiku is unhappy with Manly management over some 3rd party deals which have gone arse up, then it would be a really smart move to come over and join our club. :sarcasm:

OK guys, you better read this.

Members families are out of bounds which most of you, especially exmoderators, are aware of.

Next step is to start suspending people who persist in ignoring this.

Kuhi would be a good pick up. Not the best player but manly would be paying some of his salary so we could pick him up for around 350k or so which would be fantastic for a young international. Good to have another option for fullback who can also slot in the backline. A goal-kicker too I believe.

Is Kuhi meant to be Hiku?

$350k? Seriously???

Yes and yes. $350k is what most teams would be expecting to pay that much for a 23 year old Kiwi international that can play fullback. He played fairly well in 2015 making heaps of metres. If he was able to work on one position instead of being shuffled everywhere in the backline he may be able to unleash his true potential.

Hiku is very inconsistent, but can be very good on his day. My problem is I'm over bringing in anymore players who are yoyo performers.

We should be trying to avoid this at all cost. But at the moment he would be an upgrade to what we've got.

I wish it were Jorge Taufua though, now there's a player to get excited about. I wish he was a Parra junior, he is awesome and very consistent. But there is no freaking way any club would let him go. Nah ah, ah. No freakin way!

Tafua can only play wing while Hiku is much more versatile.

I'd take both but reckon Hiku would be a better fit for us.

If Hiku is that good then he won't be cheap, no matter how much Manly are footing the bill. If they pay him out he is a free agent and interest from multiple clubs will push his price up. Lack of cap space in 2016 will just mean the difference will be back ended into future years.

So if he's better than Hopoate, why wouldn't the Dogs hold off on signing Hopoate and make an offer for Hiku if he's about to become available?

Because they obviously see Hoppa as more marketable and he is a clean living, god fearing Christian who will not be any trouble and most likely be a positive influence on others at the club. He will attract bums on seats.

There are many more reasons why clubs want certain players besides their playing ability which I would have thought you would have already known.

makes me wonder why they'd make an effort for walker but not hoppa, one of their own.
