I would go for Roberts now for sure. Best of the lot on offer without a doubt. Especially if the Dragons and Panthers grab the other two, then hopefully the bidding won't be too ferocious.

Up to $500k he is worth it.

Hiku for me. Added advantage over Roberts is that he is a Kiwi and that we don't lose him during those Origin months. Plus he can plan FB, centre + wing.

If no one has $500K under the cap then he could be off to ESL.

Seems to be a lot of outside backs available for this time of year considering teams are already training.

Is Lafai really that good? Haven't seen enough of him to make a good judgement, but is he really worth $300-400k?

He was one of the Dogs best in 2014. Had an average 2015 interupted by injury. I think 300-400 for either hiku or lafai is fair

He had a purple patch of form in 2014 and was being talked up quite a bit. 2015 was injury disrupted, he showed the odd glimpse of that earlier form but was nothing special for the most part. Kind of like Hoppa in the sense that he doesn't suck, but maybe the hype was turning out to be a tad unjustified? I would agree that 400K, if those are the figures being talked about, is excessive. If we've got that sort of money available I think Hiku might be a better option, can cover more positions in the backline.

And the NRL is concerned about OUR governance processes - what about the governance processes of one of the clubs you fricken run you numphies!!

Agree. This is a f**k up of titanic proportions. I don't think that we've even come close to this.

Bigfella will no doubt remind me of a few I'm guessing. ;-)

Gus seems to know where Roberts is going and if you read his twitter feed he's not happy about it

probably pissed he missed out on him

The weight of opinion on twitter suggests he'll be a Bronco.

As ^^ above, Gus has pretty much ruled out all Sydney clubs.

Lose Hodges, sign Roberts.... and then get Inglis for 2017 to play left centre... all of them on 250K under the cap just like Locky was... No wonder Wayne wanted to go back there and coach after he saw what most other normal clubs and coaches have to deal with like he did while he was at the Knights!

I think it'll be Broncos

Gus has been pretty adamant that he thinks Broncos have an unfair advantage through the draw and also the fact they're in such a town with the type of third party arrangements they have through the thoroughbreds.

Wouldn't surprise me if Roberts gets on the Broncos cap for 300k and the rest is made up by third party

The backlash he is talking about imo would be from himself and other Sydney writers that will plaster it all in the papers
