Absolutely pathetic.I know its only nines but not many of the fringe players have pushed their case for 1st grade at all.

Good news is we have been eliminated from the nines as winning this competition means you do not win the premiership. Bad news is that we looked very ordinary, devoid of ideas, one dimensional and do not have an off load in the team.

I hope that there is some improvement in the team but on the surface we looked close to the worst team in this comp.

Anyone actually watch the game? The live stream didn't end up working.

Disappointed but it's the Nines, we won it last year plus this year our squad was nowhere near as good.

Anyone have reviews on how the guys went individually?

Well for that game
Hunt showed a bit of good work running
Clark got through a bit of work
Goodwin showed good desperation for his try
Burgess had a shocker, dominated in tackles and the worse kill of an overlap since pearce in origin in 2013
Sutton was ok in this game, just had no support
Walker again kept quite
The hooker battle was won by mcinnes, defence was outstanding, try was great, beating 3 guys to get over in the bonus zone. Cook was good, but he doesn't dominate in tackles like mcinnes, taking that extra step over the sideline was costly, as was his 2 simple penalties.
Everyone else were pretty much anonymous,

Cheers Diego.

Disappointing to hear but there's still two trials to go.

Do you think Hunt could get a centre/wing spot?

well the rabbitohs v parra game is at 9 am. a draw or win will get us into the finals.

i don't think cody was that bad, but people were expecting so much because some were talking him up too much.

if aj's shoulder is still hurting then don't risk it. it's only the nines. if his shoulder is fine then he will be a big boost to the team

hopefully they get onto the field about 20 mins before kickoff and practice those drop goals and work out who should take the conversions. they make a big difference and can be the difference between winning and losing..

Good performances from McInnes and Goodwin even though we lost.

Matt King was saying McInnes has had a very good off season and that Goodwin is super consistent for us.

I'm disappointed in Cody again. He did not take control.

Oh well, on to the Charity Shield.

He looked good when he had the ball in hand, as did olive in the 2nd game. How that translates into the 13 game idk.

Agreed.

Cody has definite potential, but we shouldn't base his form solely on the Nines. The real trials will be, well, the real trials i.e. Charity Shield and Pizzey Park.

AJ probably shouldn't play imo. I'd rather have him fit and firing for Round 1 than risk him for a competition we won last year that means squat.

I'm surprised Cody and Sutto haven't been our kickers, logic would dictate that as halves they would be able to kick well. Cook has done decently but seeing some of our backs kick and miss miserably is just stupid.

AJ should pull out of this All stars match. Don't want him to doing anymore damage to the shoulder.

As for Cody I'll be watching him closely at the Charity Shield.

Same for Oldfield. He hasn't been as good as I thought in the 9s.

Yesterday Goodwin did well with some kicking.

I that match R95 Cook tried very hard.

Good performances came from Cam and Bryson.

Good that Cam lifted and Bryson using his experience.

They won't know until the scans come back. Surgery = 4 months. Otherwise 2-6 weeks. Josh Massoud added,

@josh_massoud is it true Alex Johnson needs surgery?

Shit, let's hope he doesn't need surgery. It would be a big loss Southsport.

Then we'd have to put up with Oldfield or Hunt on the wing who aren't as good as AJ.

We'd look like this:

1. GI
2. Oldfield
3. Gray
4. Auva'a (preferred side is left)
5. Goodwin (preferred side is left)

I don't see Madge picking Hunt. As I said above if AJ is injured I expect Madge to go with this:

1. GI
2. Oldfield
3. A. Gray
4. Auva'a (preferred side is left)
5. Goodwin (preferred side is left)

I would have Hunt on standby in the 19 jersey.

yeah i think they could both be in the 17. don't know what that means for carter though..

What it means for Carter is 18th man.

If AJ is out this is our Round 1 side:

1. GI (C)
2. Oldfield
3. A. Gray
4. Auva'a
5. Goodwin
6. Cody
7. Reynolds
8. T. Burgess
9. McInnes
10. Tyrrell
11. Turner
12. Sutton
13. S. Burgess

14. Cook
15. Clark
16. Grevsmuhl
17. Brown

18. Carter
19. Hunt
20. Musgrove

Eels Take Points as Rabbits Bow Out of Nines

The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ 2016 Nines campaign has come to an end after going down to the Parramatta Eels by 24-11 at Eden Park this morning – the Eels advancing to the Quarter Finals along with the Melbourne Storm in the Waiheke Pool.

A win or a draw would have seen the Rabbitohs advance to the next phase of the tournament, however it was the Eels who came up trumps on the back of some slick back-line movements resulting in tries.

The Eels were in after just 30 seconds of play after the Parramatta side regathered their own kick-off before Semi Radradra slid in next to the corner-post. Corey Norman converted from the sideline to make it 6-0.

From the ensuing set, John Sutton went for a forty-twenty in an attempt to put the Rabbitohs in prime attacking position, but the skipper got more than he bargained for from the effort – the ball staying in play only for Bryson Goodwin to scoop it up and score to make it 6-4.

By the fourth minute, Luke Kelly was attacking the red and green line with gusto and eventually managed to send Norman over for four points to make it 10-4 in favour of the Parramatta side.

The Rabbitohs looked to atone when Damien Cook looked to spark an opportunity when he got outside the widest Eels defender before streaking some 40 metres down the sideline and kicking.

But while Cook’s kick was on-song and would have resulted in a certain try to Michael Oldfield, officials deemed that Cook had in fact stepped on the touch-line as defenders looked to take him out.

Just before half-time, Bevan French chased a kick into the in-goal hard and came up trumps for the blue and gold’s with a fast four-pointer to round out the first half, leaving the score at 14-4.

On the resumption, Cameron McInnes made his intentions clear when he powered over for a five-point try from dummy-half that narrowed the gap. With Cook’s conversion, the score read 14-11.

Vai Afu Toutai got his team back in prime position though with a try in the corner which Mitch Cornish converted to make it 20-11 with time fast running out for the Red and Green’s.

With the clock winding down, Radradra notched up his second try of the morning to seal the victory in the final minute of the clash to make the final score 24-11.

Eels 24 (Semi Radradra 2, Corey Norman, Bevan French, Vai Afu Toutai, tries; Corey Norman 1, Mitch Cornish 1, goals)

Defeated

Rabbitohs 11 (Bryson Goodwin, Cameron McInnes, tries; Damien Cook 1 goals)

Correct Matrix. Great post. Someone sees sense. Hallelujjaaaahhh. Funny how Shadow has vanished all of a sudden:lol:

Cody didn't live up to the hype
Hunt didn't live up to the hype
Oldfield didn't live up to the hype (if AJ is out however I see Oldfield getting first crack on the wing)

What do you think of Gosiewski and Musgrove?????
