No Burgess means we keep mcqueen walker grant and probably get a decent first grader With the money freed up by the release of glenn stewart. It would mean going into this year, barring injuries, guys like auva'a, nielsen , goodwin, tyrell, clark, turner would be our depth signings instead of first choice selections, and guys like the burgess twins would have to perform as their would be a real threat of being dropped which doesn't exist at the moment. Their wouldn't also be the rumours of unrest in the playing group which has seen manly players unhappy and playing below their best.

Grant and McQueen are bench depth players at best. Walker didn't leave because of the cap. Madge went out of his way to keep him. He left because he's a spoilt brat who f**ked up big time and couldn't accept the consequences. He had a terrible attitude, played like rubbish all last year and hasn't exactly set the world alight this year. Grant and McQueen can be replaced easily (they haven't yet but can be) and Walker went on his own. I'd take Sam any day.

Redfern rumblings
Three key staffers have left South Sydney in the space of a month, but the shake-up at Redfern is about to begin in earnest under Shane Richardson.
Rabbitohs recruitment manager Grant Jones, a former Bunnies player, was made redundant during the week. His departure is hot on the heels of that of Troy Thompson, who left to take up roles with representative footy teams. Souths Care ambassador Rhys Wesser is also gone. With Jones out of the way, Richardson will have the ultimate say on retention and recruitment and that should be a concern for some of the club's underperforming players. 'Richo' isn't happy with the playing roster at his disposal and has at least two forwards in his firing line. We're also hearing the club is keen on an immediate player swap with Chris Grevsmuhl – already signed to Penrith for 2017 – for one of the Jennings brothers at the foot of the mountains.

Good to keep the players accountable. I'd swap Grevs if possible. I think this is a year to look to the future and he isn't a part of that. Swapping him for someone who is is good management. If no swap is available, when Surton and Musgrove are back i'd drop Grevs to see what the Norths backrows have got in them. Crichton, Whielaw and Gosiewski need to be given a crack to see whether they are worth developing or whether moving on to new prospects is for the best.

Grant and mcqueen at best are depth bench players? Both at their best have played origin. Walker is young and brash, but surely a bit of extra money could of kept him. No threats out wide has really stifled our attack. It's not that sam isn't a better player then these guys, that's a given, it's that sams inclusion has dramatically altered the team, it's put a huge division in the team, to say that there aren't problems within the group is putting your head in the sand. Sam coming back meant me lost a huge amount of depth, we lost first graders and replaced them with fringe first graders, now when we get injuries/suspensions we don't have those fringe first graders to rely on because they are now permanent first graders. It was all worth it because Sam is superman and he'll do it all himself. Now that Sam has proven to be human everybody is crying that we don't have depth and don't have the players to help him out.

Grant was useless ,surely you watched him the slow dinosaur
McQueen was down on form since 14 and was not the same player
Walker is a goose and better gone, how many chances would you give?.
Isaac went home
Stewart was useless
Your argument has no validity

Grant was overpaid, but was still a first grade standard prop. His good defence would be handy this year.
Mcqueen was down on form, but is still a better 2nd rower at this stage then guys like grevsmuhl, turner and Carter.
Walker is immensly talented and Young. Imagine if people gave up on guys like fittler, johns and Thurston because they were rat bags at the same age
Issac left, but because it seems like we were always planning on getting sam back we couldn't afford a first grade standard replacement. Instead we have 2 reserve graders fighting over the no 9 jumper.
Stewart was one of our best last year. Before he had a falling out with maguire in the last few games everybody on this forum loved him. He came 2nd in this forums 3-2-1 for the year but apperently he was useless all year and everybody always hated him.
It's funny that this bunch of useless players actually went through the regular season with only 2 less wins then our 2014 team and spent most of the season in the top 4. But we had to make changes because Sam would magically lift the team. Now we are contention for the spoon and thinking we can make the finals is fantasy.

Thanks Southsport. Richo will get into things. Some players better get their arse into gear.

Once again very good post. That's eaxactly what should happen.

Gosiewski has re-signed with us for a couple more years too.

Grants good defence ?. Are you serious ?.unless a player runs straight a thin they are past he let in many many tries when defending their own 10 m zone it was embarrassing
I rate Grevs Turner and Carter all above the form of McQueen for his past 12 months
Walker had used alllllll of his chances the board said f.... Him off
I think Cook is nearly as good as Isaac needs more chances to start games he goes well
I always thought the Stewart signing was rather odd
I like the guy and rate him but his year was spent either running sideways or getting absolutely monster end if he dare go to the line ,tried his guts out I thought and all due respect to Glen the forwards never laid a platform in 15 to help him

Grant missed 8 tackles all year. Usually he would win the wrestle as well. He got stepped by a centre who had momentum for a try once (when in reality it was amazing a guy of his size even got across to put an attempt on the centre) and ever since guys on here accused him of letting un tries close to the line (bizarrely we aren't allowed to say anything about goodwin doing this regularly).
Grevs and Turner in better form? So they aren't the players everyone on here are saying we need to get rid off at the moment?
Getting rid of Walker has done wonders for our three quater line.
Cook as good as Luke....
And Stewart was good for us. He was talked about as getting an origin recall, he had mongrel in defence and he always tried.
