Not trolling just curious. Why are you keeping Jennings? He doesn't seem to fill a need and could be replaced . You've got him inside Semi who is seeing less ball. Peats seems to be a good fit and locker room guy for the Eels - seems odd.

Jennings is contracted for a few more years where Peats isn't. So if we're going to subsidise a player to play elsewhere, surely it's better to only do it for half a season.

So the NRL screwed us by not backdating the contract to when the injury actually occurred. Who thinks they may have done so if the GO5 had stood down immediately?

Yeah I'm thinking the same way. Let's keep the team together with the view for 2017. Forget 2016.

Yeah but Peats might have been going to Gold Coast all along. He might had been sitting on a big offer and he and his Mrs might have already decided to shift there in 2017.

If you are comfortable about sitting out 2016, what if he was going anyway ?

Anyone who thinks we can make the semis by winning 12/15 is a stupid stupid gullible fool. The nrl have baited us with a sniff of finals football, but it is overwhelmingly against us.

That's the conversation I hope BA has had with the players. :sarcasm:

Yep, I heard that and posted it about an hour ago.

It was going to be an unpopular decision among most fans regardless of whether it played out now to be cap compliant or later in the season as a pure free agency decision.

Interested to see what BA's long term vision is regarding hooker. I can see him utilising IDG and Pritchard next year to stay the course but beyond that it gets a bit hazy. Kaysa is talented and driven but he needs to prove he can stay fit if he is to be the #1 rake. Ditto for Cameron King if we manage to hold onto him. We don't really have a gun hooker coming through the ranks until all the way down to our championship Harold Matthews team in Kyle Schneider so we may have to look around externally.

The one season in the last 6 or 7 where we can get excited by the footy our team is playing then all this shit happens.
Regardless, if we make the finals all the telecrap will say is a team that cheated the salary cap was allowed to play finals at the expense of another side blah, blah, blah.

That's why we should have come clean last year! Probably would have only lost all points from 2015.

Likely after signing Pritchard. But concerned this will affect the playing group.
They'll get over it. It'll just be BA's job to do so before Friday. Plus if he goes to another team he is at least 2 points more likely to play finals. I just get feeling if he were in long term plans, he'd have been signed up by now

lol. He's the toughest hooker in the comp.

He goes good. He is not elite - I like the Granville style hooker who can open a defense right up.

Id be happy to run with Kaysa -King and offer de gois a 1 yr extension.

Peats will be demanding 500k Plus. The other 3 id say not more then 140k each. Take your pick. Sure id rather peats but if we can save 350k and then upgrade 3 forwards from 250k players to 350k players we are infront

When will people stop with the conspiracy's and just deal with the facts about our managements. This is all our managements doing. You can blame the media and the NRL all you want. Doesn't change the fact that our poorly run club is to blame for the fine, loss of points and now the loss of players. This
Could've been avoidable from the start.

Yeah we could've just stayed under the cap and had a shit squad. Just like the Knights, Tigers and the Titans. I bet they're stoked to be playing for points.

There is no doubt they stuffed up and then lied but not telling the NRL they had more. We should direct any anger towards the board as a whole mot just those suspended any one of them could have spoken up at any time.

Would be awesome if we have no Peats and Norman next year.:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:

This is the concern I have.

I can just about wear the decision to let Peats go, even though I have been of the feeling that we should just forget about season 2016 and focus on what the squad for 2017 is going to look like.

If Peats was not going to be re-signed for 2017 then yeah, OK... maybe let him go now....

But I would only have been making that call if I had Corey Norman signed, sealed and delivered for next year and beyond. And I doubt that is the case. Surely that will be first order of business if we get below the cap for this year and the NRL allow us to play for points?

The thing with segs is he has been out of form and had a few injuries. His $$ would be at a low.His upside is huge.
Peats is a tough hooker but lacks any dynamic type of attacking skills or a long or short kicking game. Compared to seeing MK for 5 yrs we fell in love with Peats. Tough yes. Elite no.
