It's all good to be impressed with a 5 minute keary cameo at hooker between the 65th and 70th minute against tired forwards, but will he have that same effectiveness from the start of the game with the increased defensive workload (cams 44 tackles in the middle would severely wear out keary)

What you say may be true but I think trying Keary at hooker would be an experiment well worth risking. Put it this way, I don't think he can do any worse than McInnes. As for the defensive side of things, it is actually easier defending in the centre of the park because you have more bodies around you to help you in defence; it is around the fringes of the ruck where it is harder to defend as you often lack numbers to assist you and hence, have to rely on skill, vision and judgement. Therefore, playing Keary at hooker and having him defend centrally will see him do more work in terms of tackling but he will actually be safer in that he won't be caught out in too many one on one situations.

I tend to agree it would be an interesting experiment as the attacking opportunities are limited with Cams style and lack of speed off the mark compared to Keary
Cams defence is way more solid than Keary so hopefully the other big bodies around him would help out
The only question is does he have the heart and passion to play at 9
It's a very very important spot as you know
I love what I see when he does go to dummy half ,I'm sure between him at 9 then Cody GI and AJ the left edge would destroy teams
