Gareth Widdop is past his use by date at Dragons

Gareth Widdop is not a leader and he has not grown in to the role of captaincy at the Dragons.

He is meek,

His kicking game is rubbish. He doesn't read the game well, nor what is in front of him

He is not a big game player nor is he a match winner. His movement is slow and predictable, as the intercept try tonight shows.

He is a solid player at best. But not a marquee, and should not be part of the Dragon's future..

You can say what you want about how bad Widdop is, how bad Laafi is, how bad x y z is but not until we hire a coach who knows who he wants and starts weilding the axe will things change.

There are two things needed for success: effort and talent

Widdop said we are trying really hard at the moment which only highlights the fact we have zero talent.

Keep Frizell and build a team around him.

...and just watching him interviewed after the loss to GC tonight, he is not hurting enough on behalf of his men and this great club. To refer to tries scored against us from kicks as some-how being lesser value than other tries - the inference being 'bad luck', just makes me cringe more when I see him put a (laughable) attacking kick. Geeeezus !!!!

And of course Mary has to take responsibility for cultivating that bad attitude in his captain.

Yep, he's got to go. He gifted the Titans 12 points, the intercept try from his stupid looping pass, and the missed tackle on Hurrell. In fact you couldn't really call it a tackle, it was that stupid jump in front of the attacking player that he does.

Add the useless kicks when attacking the try line, the hospital passes, and the poor leadership, and it's time to move him on.

Well said! Your anger is justified and I agree with 90%. I think De Belin is a classic case of a good but poorly coached player and I could never say a bad word about Nighty, he's not the problem here.

Agree with everyone but de Belin. I'm on the fence with Dugan.

de Belin is one of the best defenders in the competition.

Agreed with all above and add Rein to the top of that list somewhere also.
Frizz to capt would be a great start to build a team around.
I was a staunch Widdop for along time but this year he has just seemed to go from bad to worse and im sick of thinking he will turn it around. Of course,he may of just had all the ability he had at melb completely coached out of him by now.
A rebuild is what we need but will we get it...
