Last time I checked, the Steelers didn't have a track record of cheating and one much worse case of cheating that was swept under the rug by the NFL.

Sure, maybe Brady was a scapegoat but he could have easily co-operated, told the truth and probably had Deflategate swept under the rug too.

Yep. All he had to do was fess up and say yeah, I told them to let a little bit of air out, didn't know it was less than leagal pressure. Nothing would have happened, maybe only a week. But he acted like a dick, didn't cooperate and destroyed evidence. The penalty was more for his actions after the fact than the sin itself.
