Was it really that obvious? Windscreens was selected above Gower last week so I didn't see it as an automatic change for round 2.
The fact Gower wasn't included in the Wenty lineup this week was an indicator. I suppose it wasn't obvious but it seemed something was up. Then again, there's that rule about reserves being ineligible if they previously played ISP that round. Maybe that means your 18th man can't be named for Wenty. So what was going on last week?

Anyway, with backups it seems to be horses for courses. With guys like Taupau and Fonua-Blake it was pretty clear Manly were going to come through the middle (if they ever got any ball). That means we needed big bodies to put in front of them, so O'Brien was ideal. And in the conditions we couldn't have gotten much out of Gower's finesse game.

I am pretty confident that Gower will come in for O'Brien this week. Weather permitting I guess.

Fair enough but I guess O'Brien wasn't named for Wenty either. There's also nothing stopping BA naming Gower in the 17 and O'Brien in number 18-21 if that's what he was definitely doing.

The Dragons also have some big boys in Packer and Mau but I take your point about wet weather footy suiting Gower's game less.

I'll also add for the record that I'd prefer Gower in the 17.

Also Gower can play edge forward and is probably a better option out there then Pritchard in regards to defending. Gives BA a few more options.

Yeah big Frank is past it as an edge defender, and Brown isn't really an option. I suppose Scott can still do the job. Obviously Gower has loads of skill in attack.

I think Gower's only good against a very tired defence. He was great a couple of years ago when brought on late but more recently he's been poor.

Whenever I took a girl out on a date, I'd try to keep her up really late because I was much better against a tired defence.

On the game - should we even bother showing up?

According to the Dragons' fans, our pack is shit, and they will belt us into submission...

You have to love dragon fans.

1 win and they think they will win the comp (I may be exaggerating).

We all know our pack is our strength, as is theirs.

Will be a great forward battle but i would prefer our backs to theirs, especially if Normie performs like he did last week.

Edit: I missed adding my last point on Normie.

At the end of the day we've won one game against a team that got belted in the end today and will probably finish bottom 4.
