Aaron Woods- reported by NRL Tonight that Canterbury have offered him $1 million a year for 4 years. James Hooper though so probably bullshit.

Hello Gideon Moseby
Pretty much...

As I said, I love Feldty and I really hope he stays. You kind of become attached to your premiership winning players, especially those involved in iconic moments. But at the end of the day, he's a winger which just puts him down the list of priorities to re-sign.

Im confident we'll re-sign JT and Scott without any fuss, from there we need to wrap up Coen Hess ASAP and then just about every other off contract player before we start looking at wingers.

Would make about as much sense as the Tigers signing a 4th hooker. Come to think of it, Tigers have probably tied it to a player swap with Lichaa and some magical beans.

Hess' value is sky rocketing to the 600-800k mark.

I doubt the Cowboys would have accounted for that.

Its been reported Chris McQueen is set to leave the Titans and sign a 3 year 1.2 million with the Tigers. McQueen wanted to stay on the Gold Coast but the Titans wouldn't match it.

That is f**king mental money for a dime-a-dozen backrower like McQueen. Seriously, Tigers.... what is going on down there?

He's no superstar, but $400k a season seems reasonable value when you consider the cap increase.

Hard to get a gauge on where figures sit these days but fair to say if we're talking a 9m cap 400k is the new 250k which is probably a fair figure for someone like Mcqueen.

Yeah thats the ridiculous situation the NRL has left the clubs with.

I think the clubs are essentially going to paint the NRL into a corner and dictate what the cap will be, by just signing players while this ruderless cluster f*ck that Greenberg "leads" just sits around.

They aren't going to tell the clubs and players "sorry you'll have to rescind those contracts, the cap is lower".

Agree with all this.

Feldty will always go down in history as scoring 'that try'. He can be sublime but be can also have a complete shocker and/or ill disciplined brain explosion in him. He's a local boy, I'm hoping we retain him but we have a decent production line, I trust the club will throw an appropriate deal at him if they see him as the long term club winger.

This makes so much sense I wish I could 'like' it twice.

When Wade Graham says he would have signed longer than 2yrs had he known what the cap would be like there is a problem. Its affecting the market. Some Clubs/players are going all out with multi year/million deals while others are being conservative.

When the NRL says the 2018 cap is X amount you're gonna have Clubs, agents and players all complaining they either signed for unders or overs. Some Clubs could be budgeting for $9M, others $7M.

Shambles.

Mate the NRL Players Association have said they won't allow the NRL to rush in and sign off on the salary cap for 2018 and beyond until the collective bargaining agreement is signed of on. As the NRLPA want it stipulated in said agreement that the players receive a set % of the game's revenue, and have it tied to the salary cap, it is a bit hard to lay it all at Greenberg's door on that point (though I'm not saying the NRL's completely blameless either).

Yeah the Daily Telegraph had it in the paper today. According to the Tele the reason no official announcement has been made is that the 10 day cooling off period has not expired yet.
