Just wondering if there has ever been a contract signed in the history of rugby league where it has been universally agreed that the price was fair?

Lol

That's a good question actually - I can't say I ever seen everyone agree on a player contract - Either it's too low (because everyone wants to play for Bennett) or it's too high (every other club that has to pay overs for players that want to sign with the Broncos)

Then we signed Paul Vaughan for 'unders'. Bennett must have negotiated his contract......

Sure does look that way. Massive unders for Vaughan if that's what a club is prepared to sink into Woods.

Wages are well and truly out of control in the NRL. Players can not publicly whinge about the $$$ they are getting at the moment.

Its been reported Chris McQueen is set to leave the Titans and sign a 3 year 1.2 million with the Tigers. McQueen wanted to stay on the Gold Coast but the Titans wouldn't match it.

Refreshing to hear that sometimes a player is offered only what they are really worth.

Question for the Tigers fans out there - whats Taniela Paseka like?

Have read he had been signed by Manly.

Can see his highlights, but those things can be very misleading....

Very, very very strange we've allegedly let him go. He weighs 126kg and is 198cm tall. Apparently he has poor attitude but the club talked him up so much being the next best thing and with his size it's something we've lacked for a long long time

In the lower grades he looks like hulk however it's a different beast in nrl. I have a feeling with the right coach he could be a monster

Very weird we've only let him go after 4 weeks into the season if true, would have to be a disciplinary reason I reckon

Cheers mate.

Yes you'd imagine it could only be disciplinary reasons. I'm sure it will come out soon enough.

Josh Dugan and the Dragons relationship is starting to sour. From what I have heard Dugan thinks he's a fullback and thinks the Dragons maybe trying to push him as a centre to get him cheaper. The other thing is Ben Hunt will be getting 1.2million next year and Dugans been offered 750 000 a year and its been hinted that maybe a sticking point although Dugan's never made a comment like that publicly.

It really depends if Dugan thinks there is anyone out there that will pay a million a year for his services. Dugan should be careful, Benji Marshall chucked a huff that Tigers were not going to pay him an inflated million a year. What they were offering was 700 000 a year which was a still a attractive considering the Tigers recent seasons had been ordinary- Benji then found out after he left that his market value wasn't as inflated as ego was and was left out in the cold.

"DUGAN’S RED V PAY CUT

Josh Dugan is off contract and no guarantee to stay at St George Illawarra.

Fairfax Media reporter Andrew Webster told NRL 360 the Dragons have tabled Dugan an offer worth about $750,000 a season — roughly $100,000 less than what he’s believed to be on now.

The club has indicated they wanted him to move from fullback to centre after 2017, despite coach Paul McGregor stating on Sunday he sees Dugan as a No.1.

NRL 360 co-host Paul Kent said the club isn’t too concerned whether the representative player stays or goes.

“There’s a bit of a whisper around that the Dragons won’t be too disappointed if he moves on,” Kent said.

“They see him as a centre, they see him as a guy who can be a little bit difficult at times to coach.

“This will get me in trouble saying all this but that’s the way he’s viewed.”

I'm not a Tigers fan, but I've seen a bit of him play...

The kid can't defend. At all. Even as far as 20s goes, he's an awful defender.

400k next year onwards will be less than 5% of the salary cap lol

In other words that's nothing

Take your point which is valid. But at the end of the day the last thing your club needs is playing over's for players in the twighlight of there careers. McQueen has proven himself to be a solid player, nothing more nothing less I am simply saying why not invest in someone around the 22-23 year old mark which untapped potential for less than what you will be paying McQueen. Trust me they are plenty out there. Some astute recruitment could get you two such players for the price of one.
