1.2 million for Bird and 900k for Milford? Surely the other players in the squad will be pissed about 2 disloyal players

I was happy when I heard the Knights were chasing Bird but he's not worth close to that figure.

Not sure wtf the Broncos would be thinking really. Milford and Bird would not make a good halves pairing at all and surely they're not planning on spending that and playing him at centre.

It's been reported that it's not in the same ball park was info I was going from the courier mail

"THE Broncos are on the verge of landing a major recruitment coup by securing Cronulla’s State of Origin star Jack Bird to solve their halves shortage.

Bird, 22, is expected to finalise his future this week and the Broncos are confident they will land his signature.

The Bird development came as the Broncos discovered they will be without halfback Ben Hunt (hamstring) for six weeks, allowing Kodi Nikorima to press his claims for the No. 7 jersey.

Brisbane have been secretly courting Bird for two months, holding multiple meetings and tabling an attractive three-year offer to the Blues utility.

While the money is short of the near $1 million-a-season on offer from Newcastle, Bird has a desire to be coached by seven-time premiership winner Wayne Bennett.

Bennett was coach of the Dragons in 2011 when a teenage Bird was coming through St George Illawarra’s junior system.

The sustained success of the Broncos is also a lure compared to Newcastle, who are in contention for a third consecutive wooden spoon.

The Broncos are viewing Bird as a five-eighth option for 2018 to partner Anthony Milford, who will shift to halfback in place of Dragons-bound Hunt."

"Sustained success" tell me more about the broncos sustained success. I haven't seen much success up broncos way for many a year.

He cant backflip unless Teddy & Woods decide quickly. Even then the 10day cooling off period would be over. The Tigers withdrew the offer. There is $0 on offer for Moses right now and because of his petulance and runnning to Parra, he CANT come back.

If he hadnt signed with Parra and waited until Woods & Teddy had decided, tehn he could choose where he went, including Parra. But he has screwed it. His agent is an idiot.

10 day cooling period is only business days, not weekends so really it is 2 weeks/14 days. Which means he pretty much has until the end of this week to decide. Still not a lot of time

I really get this sick of hypocrisy crying about fairness when the Broncs lose Hunt and there none of this bashing for the Dragons.

If Broncos lose someone- "Ha Ha Ha the donkeys lose someone they can't have everyone"

If Broncos sign someone "there cheating the salary cap"

Honestly, it's a Broncos bashing either way.

Give it a rest. We lost Bird to get Hunt... Hunt to Dragons, and Bird to Broncos (via Cronulla)

That's because Broncos get more than their fare share of players on "unders", Do you honestly think any other team would get Mead, Roberts, Sims, Marshall on their official contract value?

Add to that - Friday night games, a city all to themselves and a media willing to turn a blind eye to controversies and you should understand why.

Hunt was lost only because stupid money was thrown at him. Can you think of any others?
