Is Foran at 6 a possibility next season ?

Just heard on Fox, Keiran Foran has sorted out custody issue with his partner which requires him to live in Sydney.

If we fail to sign Widdop, should we attempt to sign this guy ?

We know he is an excellent footballer when his personal life is stable.

Very durable and tough competitor.

The club has taken in a number of players who had serious personal problems.

Imagine the following spine:

Duges/Tedesco
Widdop/Foran
Hunt
McInnes

Top 4/Premirship here we come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would like Widdop to extend his stay but if he signs elsewhere Foran is a no brainer. Dragons need to put their best offers forward to Dugan and Widdop and give them a deadline. We need to know if they are going to commit or not while there is still talent available on the market. Foran and Tedesco would make awesome replacements.

If Widdop goes, yes absolutely, Foran is one of the best in the game and would be even better behind our forward pack and partnering Hunt. BUT I hope Widdop stays and he and Hunt form a good combination.

Foran is probably my favourite player when his head's on right. He runs a tough, dirty line that puts his backrowers through holes and the influence he has on any team he's in is absurd. He's one of the best organising halves in the world, if not the absolute best. He never shuts up on the field and he's always thinking two or three plays ahead.

HOWEVER.

His body is a wreck. He's just come back from two shoulder reconstructions and his hamstrings are held together with spit and prayers. Add to that the fact that he is and always will be seriously mentally ill (specifically suffering from bi polar disorder) and I wouldn't even approach him until I'd seen him play at least two straight months of strong, solid football and proved that his mind and body are sound. Even then, I'd only consider it if Widdop left.

Des is clearing the decks at the Dogs and Foran is his first recruit. No chance he will come to the Dragons. I'm afraid that if Widdop goes to the Tigers or Storm, we will have to settle for one of our juniors - by the way - who aren't ready.

The way I see it Mcrone played most of last year in reggies, and has got the job done thus far, if we lose Widdop and/or Dugan then an opportunity opens up, which at first might not mean instant success but perhaps in the long run may pay dividends, the Cowboys coach made comments in these terms after having to blood a few youngsters n the weekend....

By next year some may well be ready, Field, Hutch, Dufty who from reports are off the pace but they have time as will others I'm sure

Hutch was going to be our halfback before he did his ACL, so obviously the club thinks he's ready. I reckon Hutch is better as a 5/8, and by that I mean a ball-playing lock alá Elijah Taylor. He could easily play outside Hunt. He's 6 foot 3 and almost 100kg with the skills of a half, he could terrorise opposition defences on an edge.

Once Widdop confirms he's leaving, Foran will be invariably 'linked' to the Dragons but he'll be no realistic chance of joining the club.

Unfortunately this scenario...as Possm has quite rightly pointed out...will leave the team in a period of limbo where as inexperienced replacement (Field, Hutchison, or Mann) will be forced to fill in the void.

I find it curious that because Ben Hunt has been signed up that the Dragons will be able to entice other high profile players,
