Thats a load of shit. Halves and hookers have different defensive loads and need to do different work in defence.

Peter Wallace started last year off at halfback. Making 17 tackles for 4 missed in Round 1. 18 tackles for 2 missed in Round 2.

Round 3 he moves to hooker and makes 42 tackles for 1 missed. He more than doubles his workload and misses less tackles.

Josh Reynolds is full of energy. He could easily make the shift. Not saying he will, but if he was put at hooker he would do the job no worries.

Round 2 2016? You are aware here that Wallace had already started 4 full matches at hooker before that point? Lol including his 2nd 1sr grade match

You are aware that Josh Reynolds started 5 games at hooker in 2011 and played 3 games at hooker from the bench.

He has more experience at 9 than Wallace did. Thats beside the point anyway... the point is the defensive work required is very different and that halves can move to hooker and have done so before and they cope with more tackles just fine.

Im almost thinking the other way now, if Josh Reynolds is getting 750-900k, and Moses is getting 900k

I mean Cronk should be able to get about 5 million a year from someone, right?!!?

newcastle probably have 5 mill to speed

So given lichaa on the outer and Frawley making a difference to their balance why isn't he already back there at hooker?

Why was he moved from their in the first place when one punter seems to think hes "more talented" as a 9?

Think we've well and truly peed the life out of that one by now

Mcilwrick has been Tigers best player all year. Assuming he is re-signed, Reynolds was signed with only intention of being 5/8.

Thanks mate, I more remember him putting couple of good hits on in defence.

What do you think his best position is?
Only seen him play wing. But I know he has played a bit of centre and fullback. Ivan would have seen plenty of him and have a good idea where he wants him.

A bloke called Michael Ennis was the Bulldogs primary hooker. Reynolds was too good to be a benchie and became the Bulldogs 6. He looked terrific as a hooker in his debut season though. People who saw that are probably the obes who think it would be a good move for him.

Im not saying he will play hooker. But if Ivan wanted him to he is more than capable. Halves experience tends to help hookers.

Certainly don't disagree he wouldn't be serviceable, I've said I would have been happy with him as a 9 at the eels but at probably half the price to ensure risk reward.

But a guaranteed better player at 9 than 6 is just pure fantasy

I never "guaranteed" he is a better 9 than 6.

I said I personally think that would be a better 9 than a 6.

Geez you love to add 2 and 2 and come up with 5, mate.

The bottom line the Tigers have been lacking a Reynolds for a long time, hard, competive, mongrel, never say die..you name it. He is replacing our current no6 who has been talked up since he was in u8s as the next best thing, sadly he can't tackle, has a shocking kicking game, no game management skills and basically has gone backwards since he came into grade. Reynolds might not have some of the skills of Moses, but I think he brings a lot more to the table and for less money. Also who else was available that was a chance of coming to the Tigers???

Sonny Bill Williams will be returning to the Roosters in 2018.

He is unhappy playing Rugby Union and living in New Zealand.

Having trouble getting Tedesco under the cap, now SBW and maybe Haynes..uncle Nick will have to call on a lot of favours down at HQ to pull these signings off, but he has done it before so why should we doubt it will not happen

Exactly.

Given the NRL told them to go back to the drawing board on how they wanted to structure Tedesco's deal (and still have not submitted a contract approved), I find it incredibly unlikely they will then come up with funds for Money Bill on top of that.
