Woods and Jackson aside, our pack is strong and we will get our chances. Qld will win the penalty count on their own shitheap as they always do, but if NSW bash Milford early, he will go back into his shell and then the pressure builds on Cronk. We have a complete passenger at 7, so this is offset by the fact all of our tries will need to be set up by Maloney.

One live rubber win in Qld in 12 years, I have zero confidence this NSW rabble won't shit the bed in the big moments, as it has done for 11 of the past 12 series.

I really hope NSW wins.

I don't see the parallel with Pearce and Lockyer. There were some series where QLD were outclassed no doubt but Lockyer had proven himself. I think Lockyer saved his best for the green and gold too.

Interesting stat to put the Pearce hate in perspective. Lockyer could barely beat Fittler or Joey during the first half of his Origin career.

He saved his Origin legacy when those greats retired. Pearce now has his own chance to rectify the past as Qlds own greats reach the end of their careers.

The article doesnt mention that he won his first ever series and by his 5th Queensland had taken the shield 3 times

1998 - 2 wins, 1 loss = series win (pearce is entering his 7th series without a series win yet)
1999 - 1 draw
2000 - 3 losses (only season that compares
2001 - 2 wins, 1 loss = series win
2002 - 1 win. 1 draw..1 loss = retain the shield

Not even remotely comparable to Pearce... the fact he only lost more than 1 game in a series once in 5 years is a huge difference.

You love watching a piss ant competition? The Broncos wouldn't have had to play the Cows in a knockout final in Townsville last year if it wasn't for Origin. They hardly won a game during the Origin period and they will lose to the Warriors this weekend.

I know you are just taking the piss but .....

I'm very happy for teams with large TPA $$$ to be playing every w/e when origin is on instead of having a bye.

If the comp is going to favour them by allowing some clubs to have 2 million or more available to pay their players via TPA then they can't be given more favours just because they have so many rep stars playing in origin.
