Anything that increases the number of offside defenders on a play adds to the problem IMO. You get annoying f**kwits like Robbie Farah playing for the penalty every time. Plus ultra competitive defenders determined to get back onside to stay in the play but not knowing if they are offside until they attempt the tackle. It's all far too sloppy and open to interpretation.

I suspect the best solution would be to build the game around the assumption of set defensive lines while still allowing for opportunities for attacking play. For me the only solution is reducing the number of players on each team. This is why I love the Nines concept. Even after a slow play the ball you can still play attacking footy. Nine men on the field plus a five metre rule would eliminate much of what is wrong with our game. But is probably too radical a departure for fans invested in the rules as they are. There are still merkins who want scums to go back to being contests!

That would be great!

Good point. Maybe if we introduced the five meter rule as well, players wouldn't have so far to go to get back on-side. And if the ref had to count to three, that might be sufficient time to get back onside.

Beyond The Mat was a good movie/doco. About Mick Foley/Mankind. Mofos get hurt.
Hitman Hart was pretty good too. Mainly because it was a wrestling script flowing into real life. Although I do have my suspicions that even that was all scripted

I f&#king love wrestling. I still compete at the malabar YMCA from time to time. Ive perfected a move over the years called the greasy tea bag. Although these days the marble bag hangs a lot lower, so its more of an alien face hugger.
...and by YMCA, I mean 'dark alley'...
