Interested to hear how people think the club should of handled it?

I'm not saying the club did a bang up job, but they were caught between a rock and a hard place.

“There are problems and we’re working through them, I can’t promise anything”

That’s how.

Stop treating the fans like mugs

BTW - in terms of great players, I would put Brandy ahead of Fittler just quietly. I just think he bought more to our club and continues to do so today in his various media capacities. I know he spent time at the Warriors but we can forgive him for that brief stint.

Agreed with Brandy being ahead of Fittler. Alexander's career (during the first eight years or thereabouts) coincided with the Panthers' eventual rise from the doldrums of never making a finals series to the '91 premiership.

And given what he went through personally in '92, he can definitely be forgiven for his Warriors stint.

From what I've been told despite his flaws, we were still hopeful of keeping him. This was as late as Sept. He's the one who wants out.

Ignoring something would only make the speculation more intense IMO. We've had a couple of months of peace, now this has come out of the blue (in the media anyway) & it will be sorted by Monday & everyone will move on quickly.

Jennings, Lewis and now Moylan have been punted due to having "Out of control egos"

Maybe just maybe Gus is the problem

Maybe, who knows. We weren't exactly flying when we had both Jennings & Lewis in our team, were we?

But i like where we are now (both on & off the field) compared to back then. If not for Gus & his associates, it's likely we would be discussing a team that doesn't exist anymore. People very quickly forget that.

I think most people understand Gus did some good stuff for the club when he first came here.

Many of those same people now feel he’s long in the tooth. It’s time to move on. I honestly don’t see much in him other than a good crisis manager. He doesn’t appear to be a good long term administrator.

His history actually shows this too. This is the longest span he’s ever been at a rugby league club.

NRL.com reporting we lodged the contract details for Maloney so should be over soon

He also brought us our 1st premiership doesn't mean he should still be coach.

The entire time Gus has been here we have been developing Origin quality players for other clubs.

Moylan will win a premiership at another club just as Coote. Jennings. Graham and Lewis have done. Gordon and Austin have been in teams who have gone closer than us too.

People say the players we lose arent as good as we think. Yet the end up being premiership winners quiet often. Meanwhile the rep players they are pumped for us signing end up becoming FORMER rep players.

Merrin lost his rep jerseys.
Tamou lost his rep jerseys.
Maloney has maybe one more year in them at most... out of loyalty only.

The players we lose are better than the ones we sign. We only think they are better based on being at better clubs.

Well we have officially lodged a contract for Maloney.

The club wont be getting a cent from me or my family until Gus is gone. I don't appreciate him lying to us and I am sick of him sending our best players to other clubs to win premierships.

He hires a shit coach. Extends him when no one else wanted him. He has moved on star after star since being here and bangs on about wanting to win a cimpetition with locally developed players. Yet he wastes all of our salary casp on signing guys looking for a big pay day.

f**k you Phil Gould. Sadly I will love the club no matter what. I will watch every game no matter what. Cheer for them no matter what. But I wont be spending a cent that goes toward the club... hard as it may be not to own our new jerseys next year.

I am sick of him making all these decisions that make other clubs stronger and us never noving toward anything.

we can confirm Matt is 100 percent committed to the Panthers, and we are 100 percent committed to Matt,” said Panthers boss Phil Gould.

What total bullshit lies. Same with Moylan's deadshit of a manager. 'Its plain sailing he will be here for 2018 pre season training'.

If the club knew Moylan and the coaches relationship was untenable then Gould should not have continued to deny and lie. He could have been more cagey or diplomatic with the rumours. Its not if the clubs denials quieten the rumours down at all.
I can appreciate the club might have been hopeful of a resolution between both parties but so many people have come out the past 2 months and stated no way can he stay at Penrith with Griffin.
I am very upset with Gould and his handling of the situation.

This will probably be another Luke Lewis situation. We let our club captain go for an unknown reason or issues and don't know who to blame.

Grow up people! It is a professional business and decisions that we dont like or understand happen all the time.
If an employee doesnt fit the employer acts. None of us know what happens behind the scenes.
Besides, the reports still only say understood to have, and is believed to have. Still nothing official from anybody.
Maybe we are adding Maloney and keeping Moylan! Stranger things have happened!
