This has been one of the craziest offseason in the NFL I have ever seen in my 23 years of following it.

The draft is going to be insane, so strap yourself in for the end of the month.

Predicting there will be 10+ trades in the first two rounds, i see The Pats, Trading Gronk + Pick 43 to move up to the niners at 9 to select a QB or a stud that drops.

You know what wouldn’t shock me... the eagles enquiring about Gronk
They need two quality te’s, and one that can block. If they can get the salary to work, his contract works out in a way that it’s not prohibitive for the Wentz deal

Plenty of talk that they just might. Gronk has said he'd only keep playing of Brady stays so you never know. Thing is the 49ers should ask for more than a first rounder and Gronk to trade away pick #9 if this was offered by the Pats.

I dont think that'll get it done.
This is not the best TE in history... it's the best TE in history who has a dozen ops all over him, including multiple back issues, and is on the cusp of retirement even with the Pats, and if traded may not even show up.

The reality of it is you're just not getting shit back for that.

Also probably means gronk is no longer a trade item, i like the trade, Cooks was never going to be re signed.

It was for our 4th, they gave a 1st and 6th.

They could get a 1st for Gronk as well. This move reeks of a scramble up the draft board to snag a QB. 2 1sts won't get them what they want, 3 of them could push them into the top 7.

It's a bit of a head scratcher. He only has one year left on his contract. I hope they know what they're doing. Would suck if he leaves next season like Watkins did.

I don't know about that. I don't think browns trade either pick unless for a ransom, jets aren't moving and I think broncos either make a play for 2nd or wait to see if Mayfield makes it to 5 then pick bpa.

Bills are trying everything to get up the ladder. With what Pat's have, at best they are picking the 5th qb off the board, they need another 1st to shift past the bills. They're in Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph territory right now. There are too many desperate teams well ahead of them that they'll need capital to leap over.

Bears traded away 2 x 3rds, a 4th and a future 3rd just to move one spot last year. Once you're talking top 7 picks, the trades get insane.

ok, after reading some posts in the rams forum i'm coming around to the price the rams paid.

sure i love having cooks on the team and he'll be better than sammy because he will make an effort to adjust to the ball, whereas sammy didn't even try to stop if the ball was a fraction behind him or to the side of him. but a 1st for a guy on his last year of his contract is risky as f**k if he's determined to test the market.

there's no doubt cooks will be better than any player the rams select this year with the #23 pick, especially a wr. and he certainly helps the rams in their quest to win it all this season. so the rams are set for this season. they can use the draft to fill out their lber corps. an extra 4th round pick doesn't hurt either to get cheap defensive players.

and if push comes to shove they can tag cooks next year. that will be 2 seasons worth for $12m average per year for a premier deep threat wr. not bad at all. hopefully they work out a long term deal. he, woods and kupp is a kick arse wr corps in the making.
