Why wait for 4 penalties before the warning? Warn teams before kick off,and first deliberate penalty the offender goes.

This is where it gets weird/confusing. We've seen refs issue warnings and then nothing happens for the rest of the game.

Yet last night Finch followed up at halftime about Jake's first half sin bin and the response was "the warning was for general discipline so next one was going regardless" or something like that.

Based on that Manlt had to be perfect for the remainder of the game.

There's no consistency to it though so you'll drive yourself mad trying to find any.

James Tamou was binned this year making a kick chase tackle where he was deemed to have flopped in. The same tackle is not even penslised most of the time. First tackle 60m+ from his own line.

The second of the penalties before he was binned was for a strip where no Panther was even near the ball. It was lost cold.

So in that game the 4th penalty was a binning regardless of what for. Although its hard to imagine a player could be binned if penalized while in possession for an obstruction or incorrect play the ball. But I could see some referees doing that.

They binned Walker for getting his face f**ked up and standing there copping it. So why not bin a guy for kicking it out on the full or for not playing it correctly?

So this weekend has finished as the equal-worst discipline-wise in history - a total 14 sin bins and 1 send off.

The same number happened in Round 15 of the 1995 ARL season, although that was from eight of ten games - this round's tally was from eight of eight games.

And the record was only equalled by an 80th minute Josh Dugan sin bin last night lol

They've cottoned on. Once the bin is used, the whistle gets put away or often gets used on the other team instead. So you lose a player for 10 and the ref then leaves you alone. The smart clubs are using nuffie players for this purpose.

Someone mentioned on fox that in the super league the ref doesn't stop play and speak to the captain about it, instead they give a signal and that's it: the next infringement is also a sin bin.

They need a penalty box behind the dead ball line. If you try to slow the attack down by giving away a penalty in your own 10, automatic 5 minutes in the penalty bin. And no waiting 2 minutes for the guy to walk off to the sheds. Every penalty in the 10 goes to the penalty bin for 5 mins.

Teams will stop doing it when they only have 10 or 11 on the field

When the ref signals 10 in the bin the sideline official pushes out a sulo bin and the player has to get in it. Once they're in time starts again.
