Group C: France, Australia, Peru, Denmark

eh, historically speaking when 2 teams can assure qualification through a certain result, that result tends to be what happens. France will be more than happy to cruise to a draw.

our best chance is if Denmark tries to get greedy and go for the win, and in doing so pisses off French who then beat them.

True BUT, 2nd in group D can be anyone of Iceland, Nigeria or Argentina, so I believe both teams will be playing for a win and 1st in C.

So France accounted for Peru, which pretty much spells lights out for our chances or progression.

France and Denmark can play out a friendly draw and ensure both progress. Worse still, there is a real chance that 1st place in our group faces off against Argentina in the knock out stages, so there is little incentive for France to do anything but rest players and cruise in the final group game.

Yet another “galant” but ultimately wasted World Cup by the socceroos. As always, our inability to score goals is our downfall, made all the worse by leaving our greatest ever player and aerial specialist on the bench in a 2nd half which was basically made for him.
Your greatest ever player is Harry Kewell (the Leeds Harry Kewell obviously, who was genuine world class before the injuries). Agree with the view though about Cahill needing to come on. He has a knack of getting on the end of stuff.

Australia can definitely do this. Peru can count themselves very unlucky as they could (and should) have had a point in both games. With nothing to play for they may be easier opponents.

France can’t be as bad as they have been already. If they drop the man that slows everything down for them, Pogba, their chances will improve. Deschamps may experiment in the last game which will see a much better performance and a win over what is essentially a one man team.

Can you imagine Australia progressing without having used Tim Cahill at all. We wouldn’t have qualified without him.

Cahill comes on scores the winner in a 1-0 win over Peru then concedes a yellow which knocks us out.

according to that other new commentator on SBS last night, Eriksen plays for Chavs

how longs this been going on ?

I thought that was really only an issue if you were paying transfer fees etc? Or does it also apply to any player relocating for a contract?

Either way, he definitely needs to get out of Oz ASAP before we have another Antonis situation on our hands

Think it may also tie into some of those pesky child labour laws.

It’s not illegal for a 16 year old to have a job

Yeah, in their own juridstiction. Do they give out working holidays to under 18 year olds? I am not too sure moving them across borders halfway around the world is looked at too kindly in the EU however.

Maybe after Wrexit is complete we can get them in the English system, so we can meekly surrender in a penalty shootout at the World Cup instead of in the group stages.

But that is a discussion for another time. Is what it is, and it annoyed me in several Football manager games at the turn of the decade.

tbf she is coping a lot of shit because of the way she pronounces names, les used too do that too as a form of respect.

To me the issue is she is overpronoucing and getting many names plain wrong in the process - for some names she just takes her standard 'woggy' accent and applies it when not needed..

See you next World Cup, Socceroos. Unless we get 2 penalties somehow we aren’t going to score twice
