Talk of Widdop to FB is concerning for mine.

I’m a big fan of Dufty and whilst acknowledging he’s a work in progress, particularly in defence he’s also a huge strike weapon.

Is it a smokescreen to screw with their game plan?

Is it a masterstroke for better defence, allows Widdop to roam, chime in more and allows for Mann to play 80?

I think Widdop at FB puts a lot more pressure on Hunt, especially with the kicking.

I’m hoping it’s a smokescreen - but I’d take masterstroke as well if it works.

Sorry all I just can see a victory...but I have hope and while there is life.

But what irks me more than a potential loss...is that we are so downgraded by everyone poosible in the media and betting agencies for this game is another blight on what our coach has done to the team in a multitude of ways and our club in the space of 2 months, when we only have 1 of our best forwards missing for this game and we were leading the comp still in Round 16.

Well a shake up like that for 1 game now would be too silly for words,,and if true a big mistake. It should of been done 4-8 weeks ago to get it ready for a finals game if needed. Training and captains run mean jack on actual game day pressure.

Like in the old days, Widdop at fullback can take the long kicks and Hunt at halfback can take the short kicks. Lomax at centre can take the goal kicks.

I agree with the 4-8 weeks ago bit. However, Widdop will know what to do at fullback, he played there during the last World Cup series and his defence, positional play and taking the high ball will be an upgrade. If Dufty was selected at fullback, Bennett would have him taking high balls all game with plenty of attention from his big forwards after/if he takes the ball.
